A forensic expert has insisted the long-running Madeleine McCann case could be solved within a week using the latest cutting edge DNA testing.

Dr Mark Perlin has reportedly to re-analyse 18 “inconclusive” DNA samples from the investigation

He is convinced the groundbreaking techniques used by his Pittsburgh lab Cybernetics – which identified 9/11 victims –would provide some answers.

Dr Perlin told the Daily Star: ‘What we actually need is the electronic data that comes out of the laboratory off their instruments.

‘That’s the standard starting point for DNA analysis.

‘It would take us one to two weeks, depending on the data, after we receive it to provide some initial preliminary report.’

Three-year-old Maddie was taken from Praia da Luz in Portugal in May 2007 as her parents had dinner at a nearby restaurant.

At the time DNA samples were taken from swabs lifted from the McCann family’s holiday flat and a hire car after sniffer dogs allegedly detected the “scent of death”.

This vitally important swab was from the boot of a silver Renault Scenic that Kate and Gerry McCann leased 25 days after Madeleine vanished in Praia da Luz.

It was one of 18 complex DNA samples which have yet to be fully understood and could hold vital clues.

The investigation reached a dead end when the tests returned as inconclusive 12 years ago.

But US expert Dr Perlin previously told Nine’s podcast investigation: ‘If a lab can produce informative data, even if it is complex and mixed, but they can’t interpret it then you can have tremendous injustice – of guilty people not being convicted, or innocent people staying in prison.

‘What is needed is an objective and accurate interpretation that can scientifically resolve the DNA.

They expect to find critical evidence in a car the family didn't have access to until 25 days after the disappearance?

Sounds more like grasping at straws by someone who has already decided the parents must be guilty of....something.

It's not getting solved by these people. As I remember it seems it was a case of kidnapping for human trafficking or the parents accidentally killed her by giving her too much benadryl or what ever sleep medicine they were using so they could go party.

    https://www.2oceansvibe.com/2019/05/06/theyre-closing-in-on-maddie-mccanns-kidnapper/

They’re ‘Closing In’ On Maddie McCann’s Kidnapper.

Brian – Mrs McCann’s uncle – said: ‘We are all very grateful to those who turned out this evening in less than pleasant conditions. It means a lot to us that people are still willing to support us.’

…During the service touching messages of support were read out by school friends of Maddie’s younger twin siblings. They joined locals placing name tags of missing people on a vine tree of hope, including Claudia Lawrence and Ben Needham.

A schoolboy paid tribute to British and Portuguese police hunting for Maddie’s abductor, saying: ‘We pray for the team of women and men who still searching for Madeleine. Guide them as they work hard to find the truth.’

Portuguese officers, believed to be acting on a tip off from Scotland Yard, say a sex fiend who speaks English and wears a surgical mask could have snatched Maddie from her room.

The 48-year-old child sex monster is said to closely resemble a photofit issued by detectives in the case and was understood to have been in Portugal in 2007, when the three-year-old was abducted…

Originally from Hamburg, the predatory paedophile targeted children on holiday sometimes entering their apartments or tents wearing a mask and carrying a weapon and other times using camouflage in order to ambush them.

After training as a teacher he is known to have travelled extensively, including to Ecuador, Peru and Portugal…

Clarence Mitchell, the McCann’s spokesman said: “It might be him and he fits the profile, he is a known predatory paedophile and he’s a foreigner.

“It is quite possible and plausible police are looking at him again but it could be someone else. There is a degree of credibility it is Ney but we cannot speculate.

“Ney has been previously interviewed by detectives over Madeleine’s abduction, and denied it. He is in a German jail now.”

I listened to a podcast about this story, and then read a little bit. It's a pretty confusing--and very odd--story, but I'll paraphrase what's going on...

Several weeks after the kid disappeared, they used slypoker-cadaver-dogs and the dogs alerted on several spots in the apartment. They took samples. Then they used the slypoker-cadaver-dogs in a garage with several cars WITHOUT the handlers knowing which car was the McCann's and they alerted on the trunk of that car. They took samples.

The samples were sent to a lab in England, and though the lab found DNA, their methods were pretty antiquated and the results were deemed inconclusive. Fast forward to now and dude makes a podcast about the case and talks this fancypants, incredibly confident US expert into examining the samples. Slypokerdogs don't just alert for no reason. They are professionals.

The results, if there are any, might very well exonerate the parents, or not. DNA doesn't lie very often.

(So the car thing. The McCann's went BACK to Portugal well afterwards and sort of drove around everywhere, many times out of GPS range. The theory would be that they disposed of the body then, otherwise wth is up with the slypokerdogs alerting on the "boot" of the car? This is the thinking. There is a reason for suspicion. It certainly doesn't seem like a witch hunt.)
