Forlán Out Of Atlético Game

Diego Forlán has been left out of Atlético de Madrid's squad for the game against Real Valladolid on Saturday after it was announced that he maynot arrive back in Spain until Saturday and Sergio Agüero may not play.

The Uruguayan forward will be missed by los Colchoneros but the club's coach believes that it would be too much for him if he were to rush straight from the airport to play.

After the World Cup qualifiers several of Atlético's players have returned suffering the effects of their long journeys, but Forlán's comeback was delayed due to fog.

"I know that Forlán's flight is arriving late, as is Agüero's and it is doubtful that either will play," Aguirre said before announcing that Forlán was certainly out.

"It is bad luck really because (Giourkas) Seitaridis arrived late on Thursday and could not train and Luis Perea came back withouth having slept and he was walking around in a daze.

"I knew this would happen because of the distance and the lack of rest. I think the European players are in better shape as they did not have to go so far.

"We knew all about this inadvance though of course because FIFA's dates are there and we kno more games are coming before Christmas that will only add to the number of matches.

"It is the price one has to pay to have the best players and to play at the top. The club deserves to be in competitions like the Champions League and we have to become accustomed to all this."
