"Training camp has been really tough. The biggest surprise has been how hard the practices are," said Horford, a University of Florida product who led the Gators to back-to-back national championships. "I'd always heard that the NBA doesn't practice, but that's not the impression that I'm getting so far."

Horford has made quite an impression on the Hawks so far, standing out in the preseason with his toughness inside and his ability to hit the mid-range jump shots. He has played so well thus far that there's a feeling he could eventually push veteran center Zaza Pachulia out of the starting lineup.
