Actress Annette Funicello died Monday after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. She was 70. Funicello got her start in showbiz at the age of 12 as one of the original Mouseketeers on Disney’s “The Mickey Mouse Club.” She went on to co-star with Frankie Avalon in a series of popular 1950′s and 1960′s teen beach movies, such as “Beach Blanket Bingo.” Funicello announced publicly she had MS in 1992; she was first diagnosed with the disease in 1987.
