<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Eagles | Bloom has a torn hamstringSat, 22 Jul 2006 06:22:20 -0700Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles rookie WR/PR Jeremy Bloom (hamstring) has a torn hamstring. Bloom is the most seriously injured of the three players the Eagles have placed on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list. Bloom explained the chronology of the problem. "I did it in the first minicamp, and then I came back and did it again," Bloom said. "I thought it was just a matter of getting into football shape, but when it happened again in Arizona, I knew something wasn't right." The injury happened again earlier this month while Bloom was working out with QB Donovan McNabb in Phoenix. It's possible he could end up on Injured Reserve and be out for the season.</div>I've also heard a conflicting report straight out of Eagles camp that say the hamstring is just tweaked and because the Eagles are in camp earlier than other teams he'll have additional time to rest and recover. But as of now several reports say the hamstring is torn and I guess the team has to change its plans at kick returner. Darnerian McCants' chances of making the team were slim to none, but that may change now if they like him as a return man. It was questionable whether or not Bloom would make it in the NFL at all, I heard a lot of people saying he wouldn't even be able to take a tackle and wouldn't even make the team, but I guess now he'll make the team on I.R. and have to pack it in for next season. If these reports are correct, that is. Also, the status of safety/return man J.R. Reed, who tore up his leg hopping a fence last off season after an impressive rookie season on special teams is still up in the air. This kid could be living on Mars for all I know because I hear NOTHING about him.
