Former UFC and PRIDE fighter Manny Yarborough has died

    The 51-year old former World Amateur Sumo Champion and NCAA All-American wrestler died yesterday.

    Standing 6'8" and weighing as much as 890-lbs. during his career, Yarborough was the largest athlete in the world according to Guinness. In addition to MMA, sumo, and wrestling, Yarborough was a professional wrestler and actor.

    Yarborough competed at UFC 3, losing to Keith Hackney, and PRIDE 3, losing to Takase Daiju. AFAIK Yarborough is the only pro MMA fighter to have a victory via smother (vs. Nakano Tatsuo at Shoot the Shooto XX).
