NEW YORK - Four players projected to be taken in the middle to low rounds of next week's NFL draft have tested positive for marijuana, a source said. The four include two from Wisconsin: defensive tackle Anttaj Hawthorne and guard Jonathan Clinkscale; defensive tackle Eric Coleman of Clemson and safety Atcheson Conway of Bowie, according to a source within the league who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. ************** TWO WISCONSIN BADGERS???? Oh, the Humanity!!!!!
I smoke and i'm beyond what you call a Joker. People that smoke pot do so for a reason, people that abuse pot are.......well whatever you want to label them.
I agree with you BB&G. I smoke too, but I'm not a pot head or drug addict or anything like that. Those players could be a lot worse off too, after all it was only pot.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (JustBry07)</div><div class='quotemain'>Those players could be a lot worse off too, after all it was only pot.</div> Thanks JB07. The response to this that I wanted to make just makes me sound old. Wake me up when meth is OK because its not as bad as heroin.
I'm not saying it makes it okay for them to be smoking pot, because it could be worse or anything. Really though they could have done a whole lot worse. Smoking weed is really not as bad as some of the other shit they could be doing. Just think of all the people now-a-days who smoke pot, its insane. Theres been so much talk of legalizing it because the cops cant control it, it happens!
Besides it is still illegal, it also becomes a problem for the teams that are looking to draft them. If these kids are stupid enough to do something like this right before the combine, what else are they stupid enough to do once the team has them under contract. I hope they continue to drop considerably in the draft because of this mistrust. Too bad new kids coming through can't look at these guys and see that it cost them a few hundred thousand over 4 years because they want to cut some weed. Amazing. If it is legalized, it won't be because cops can't control it.
Sure it is still illegal, but cops can't be bothered to deal with every little case of some kid smoking some pot or having small amounts on them. That is exactly part of the reason there were talks about legalizing it, here in Canada anyway. There were talks about being fined for having a small amount on you but it would not count as a criminal offense. The cops have more important issues to deal with. I understand its not something those guys should be doing before the combine, and yes it is stupid especially when they're on their way to having a career in the NFL but keep in mind it is not a performance enhancing drug. If they continue to smoke pot it will only cripple them and they will pay for it in the end. They will do nothing but bring themselves down eventually anyway.

You were just really hungry and decided to vent because there were no twinkies & fritos, right?

I did some heavy drugs in my past and its not something I'm proud of or anything but I'm just saying smoking marijuana is nothing compared to some of the shit out there.

Just because there is something worse, doesn't mean it should be legalized. Shoplifting something under $20 shouldn't be legalized just because it happens all the time and there are worse crimes. You are thinking about this wrong. I guess my point is that if the legal system really wanted to control it, they would make the punishment stronger. Let me be facetious and say that if "some kid" got caught with pot and really had to spend five years in the joint :cheesey: , the next "some kid" would think twice about partaking and then there would be less "every little cases". Cops can't control it isn't the problem. Sorry to lead off topic.....did I mention the BARBER SHOP is a nice place to visit

Ah'well it started off regarding football players. I won't discuss it here any further. On a final note: I understand what you're saying about kids getting caught and doing jail time but think of it this way. How many murderers, drug dealers, rapists and other criminals know the consequences of doing jail time for the rest of their lives and still go out and commit theses crimes. It is really no different than marijuana use, there will still always be people who are going to go ahead and do these things regardless of what may happen to them in the end.

Haha. Man it's cool though even if you hadn't been messin' with me to a degree, it would be okay. I got a good laugh out of it myself. I can handle the druggie jokes.
Ive never been one to skirt around an issue or refrain from stating an opinion, even when people dont want to hear it....in that spirit, I will state: In my opinion, all drugs are for the weak....whether they are pain killers or mind alterers or mood elevators, they all address a personal weakness....i avoid them at all cost and avoid the company of those that use them....I pity anyone with a drug problem, its a self inflicted wound and thats a shame....
