<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Timberwolves rookie Randy Foye is still learning how to be an NBA point guard. So for now, he will have to stick to his strengths. Foye finished with no assists Wednesday, but his aggressive drives to the basket down the stretch helped Minnesota escape with a 109-105 overtime victory over the Chicago Bulls at Target Center. After failing to reach double figures in the previous three games, Foye scored 14 points, including a floater down the lane with 14.3 seconds left that sent the game into overtime. "Right now I would rate myself as being average," said Foye, who made 8 of 8 free throws. "But I'm learning every day. If you watched practice, you would see I'm progressing." He is starting to show more of that in games, too. Wolves coach Dwane Casey wanted to rest some of his starters and give the rookies an opportunity to gain experience. With backup point guard Troy Hudson sitting out with a mild ankle sprain, Foye played 28 minutes and had a chance to run the offense after replacing starter Mike James in the fourth quarter. Foye struggled early with his outside shot and on defense trying to keep up with Kirk Hinrich, who led Chicago with 21 points and five assists. In a sequence of plays, Foye saw a baseline shot ricochet off the side of the backboard before reaching helplessly as Hinrich made a jump shot over him. A few possessions later, Foye was called for traveling. But after a timeout, Casey kept Foye in the game. "Some of the mistakes we have to live with because he's a rookie," Casey said. "They're not big mistakes... that he does now as a point guard. The little mistakes he's made are correctable."</div> Source
I am glad to see that he has the right attitude. Just keep working on improving his game and he will be ready to be a starter in no time.
