I do not see this happening. Steve Francis is a critical componet to this team and its playoff run. Changing PG's after the all-star game is not a good thing to do. Chemistry takes time and there is no way Chauncey can get adjusted to playing with the Rockets style and be productive with it. If Francis gets traded, it will happen after this season. Francis for Billups straight up is horrible for the Rockets. Francis is a 17 point, 6 rebound, 6 assists man nightly. He is a top-tiered PG in this league. Trading him for Billups straight up is absolutely insane and will not solve any of the Rockets problems.

I don't ever see that happening. Sure, Billups has flourished in Detroit, but he is virtually a Steve Francis without the hops and a better jumper. The Rockets won't be getting much of an upgrade there.

I would keep Francis and get a tall shooting guard that can dish and lock down defenders. That way Francis can stay as a 1 on defense but go as a 2 on offense. Of course the only person I can think of is Doug Christie. He can play some point, can handle the ball, pass, and defend. He's really underrated by most nba fans.

i'd say this trade'd be good for both teams... Van Gundy's Rockets are trying to run the O through Yao and Billups can do that better than Francis, who seems to still think that he's the no. 1 option... Brown's Pistons don't need its backcourts to shoot that much three pointers, which is Billups' big strength, Francis doesn't shoot as much as Billups from downtown and he can create for himself and big men Wallaces and Okur....

I think Francis is the better player.......there's no way I'd trade him for Billups, because Francis can change a game by himself, I'm not sure if Billups can take over a game without a good supporting cast.

We have a player of that type in Houston: Jim Jackson. I hope we can utilize him more at point forward in the future and make use of his remaining years.

If the Rockets trade Steve Francis for Chauncey Billups, the Rockets have a major loss in the trade and I doubt that the Rockets will accept the trade.
PS: what happened to franchise3? now all I see is Trip.

BTW, this trade will no longer be effective as the trade deadline is already over.

Well you also got Mark Jackson who I thought was doing well finding people. I guess put Mobley on the bench?

Also I think Billups might work, the guy is clutch, he's a good defender, can drive the lane. Of course Stevie Franchise is like family to Rockets fans. So I guess from your standpoint I couldn't bare to part with him either if I were a Rocket. But man I would say the biggest move that needs to be made is getting rid of Mobley for a good role player that can play defense and hit open shots. The team doesn't need two guards that overdribble and can't execute quick plays in a half court offense. I think Rudy T's coaching over the years hasn't prepared the Rockets for Van Gundy's style of control and execution.

BTW this is all things that could be dealt with in the offseason since the trade deadline is over.

Yes. I certainly think so. What we need to do is attain a role player who is dedicated on defense and takes a minimum amount of shots. Something like Adrian Griffin, but I'd rather have him coming off the bench. New Orleans has a few aging veterans who fit the mold in Stacey Augmon and George Lynch, but I think even Mobley for both of them won't be worth it. Maybe we can trade Mobley for a player like Tariq Abdul-Wahad, if he ever gets healthy, and a first rounder from Dallas.

btw, thanks for posting here Warriors fans. Appreciate it.

i don't think francis is going n-e where. he 2 good 2 leave the rockets. this trade has its pros and cons. billups is good, but francis is betta. steve said on madd sports that he respected houston because we did all of that trading just to get him on our team. i think he likes it here

I don't think trading Francis is a good idea, it'd ruin team chemistry at such a crucial turning point in the season. Getting use to new PG's is so difficult. Mobley wouldn't be too happy either, they steal very well with one another. The thing is also I think he's been playing very well for you guys, he's not turning it over as much as he use to right? Then again I haven't really seen any Rocket's games so you guys tell me.
