After Francis' act of selfishness, unless this unexpectedly leads to a whole new mature and selfless Stevie, I'd have to agree. It'd be easier for Van Gundy to change the culture in Houston if Francis and his max contract were relocated.</div> <div align="center">Link</div>
I think it is a possbility, Van Gundy always loved big men, ala Patrick Ewing...I think Yao Ming could lead that team to the playoffs, but where would Steve Franchise go?
I think Francis should go to the Pistons, I know they have a great lineup and have their starters but they're one of the defensive teams in need of some serious offense, same goes for the Spurs.
I hope Francis gets traded. He's on my fantasy team and he's playing AWFUL, that of which I attribute to JVGs coaching. But why would the Rockets get rid of a top 5 extremely talented point guard(I know he went to the Superbowl but forgive and forget right?)
I don't have a problem trading Francis however I really want a star player in return. I mean we would be giving up a fan favorite and an NBA All-Star all in one. I haven't thought about him getting traded recently, but I guess it is still a possibility.
Oh man, if he gets traded, I don't think I'll post as much in this forum lol. What dexter said was right, We need a star player in return. However, I don't think the Rockets management should place trading Francis as their top priority. We have more pieces of the puzzle to fill, and Francis is playing like he's the biggest piece right now. So no, I don't think the Franchise will have to change places, at least not before this season ends.
This is the first i have heard of yao having issues with steve. i think the rockets will end up making yao the center of the team instead of steve and steve wont have that so he may be gone

The Rockets finally have some chemistry and trading Francis right now is taking 6 months of hard work and pissing it away. They are playoff bound this year as it is already. It takes time to adjust and it is already too late in the season to bring in another star player over Stevie.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Magic Johnson:</div><div class="quote_post">same goes for the Spurs.</div> Yeah but the Spurs need more of a 3pt shooter, like Voshon Lenard or Cuttino Mobley, but your right, SAS needs some offense Back to the discussion... I don't think this trade will happen, but it's possible because they are trying to build around Yao, and if he doesnt get the ball, something's gonna change.
If they do trade the franchise who would it be for??? Stevie francis is awesome thats why he is an allstar the rockets shouldnt trade him.
Francis is still upset about the Superbowl suspension. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Houston All-Star guard Steve Francis may have returned on Wednesday to lead his team to victory with 23 points, seven boards, five assists, and two blocks, but he didn't exactly sound like the Super Bowl suspension he suffered on Monday was completely behind him. "It's never going to be over as far as an endpoint," Francis told the Houston Chronicle. "He's going to coach the way he wants to coach, and I'm going to play the way I want to play. There's always going to be conflict." He then stepped back from the comment of course, suggesting that he has no lingering ill feelings about the incident or towards his coach.</div> Full Article: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=fanb...nball&type=lgns Maybe Van Gundy can work a deal with his former mentor Pat Riley. A Francis for Wade and Caron Butler trade would benefit both teams. The Rockets would get a young point guard in Wade and if Butler can return to his rookie form, he could move into the starting lineup after Jim Jackson ends his run in Houston. Pat Riley gets another versatile player to run the floor with Odom, and makes it easier to unload Eddie Jones.
That trade sounds good in theory, but the Rockets will be going into rebuilding mode in the wake of the Hakeem era. Yao is a nice replacement and Francis might be the next Clyde Drexler. From a fans' point of view though, I wouldn't like that trade one bit.
Francis is still in a base-year contract, meaning the team will have to pay for the majority of his contract still until next season (is that right?? lol)... so the only real way Francis will get traded is if it involves a mega-contract in return, or a 3-team trade is done...
As much as i love Francis, i can see why we would want to trade him. However, i agree with us getting a star player in return.
