http://www.nypost.com/sports/15616.htm Rumors that the Rockets are willing to offer Francis and Mo Taylor for Rasheed. I would do this deal, although somewhat reluctantly, but the Hawks need to throw in Jacque Vaughn since the Rockets will be thin at PG with the loss of Francis. Either way, a Ming/Wallace frontcourt is just deadly, but then the point guard position becomes weak.

This would be impossible. Francis and Taylor are both playing great and Wallace brings a lot of baggage. I think that this kind of crap is too stupid to be true. The Rockets should put dumping Cuttino Mobley as their first option, not to trade an exciting all-star who is playing his best ball right now.
If I was ever going to trade Francis (I probably would never do that) I would never do this trade....ever. You are getting rid of a player to have cap space? This trade is not feasible in my mind
If we really want Wallace that much and if he really wants to play with us, we'd sign him this offseason and see what him, Yao and Franchise can do.
Rockets need to trade either Francis or Mobley to take that next step. This is not the deal they need though, they need to trade away Francis or Mobley for a point guard.
Francis is already playing more and more like a point guard. He has finally incorporated passing into his game and is finally turning into a all-round player. I don't make sense of your statement. Please explain.
Frances is not playing great basketball and he keeps feuding with Van Gundy. Like it or not Rocket fans, Frances won't be a Rocket much longer from what I have been reading.

Francis messed up the Rockets chances by holding onto the ball like he was in a streetball game. It's clear to everyone Francis can not run the offense, he can still get assists but there is more to basketball than that. Yao Ming should be the focal point of the Rockets offense, there is a reason why Jeff Van Gundy is becoming frustrated through every game with Francis You need a point guard who can run an offense to take that next step and become a contender. You don't have that right now.
The problem with the basketball scene of today is that the point guards that are mentioned by you, Allnet, are very hard to find. Unless the Rockets are able to get Jason Kidd, I don't see how much improved we will be by trading Francis. Francis draws fans and is actually very dedicated to the team. Also, you can't judge his game just by that loss to the Spurs. He has rebounded after that embarassing defeat with a 21-6 night against the Lakers, and its not like he has never made some game-winning/tying shots before. I agree that the Rockets need to play around Yao. If the box score could look like the Laker game's every night, I don't see a problem.

He has been put in a situation to run the offense when really thats not his style. Francis would be a very good shooting guard, trading Mobley would likely be the best option. You don't need to get a high quailty point guard to take that next step, just someone who can run an offense. There are plenty of guys who can do that in this league. Earl Watson would be the prefect fit for the Rockets, one of the best true back-up point guards in the NBA. It's true Francis has hit many big shots and is a soild overall player but Rockets need a point guard, bottom line If only Mark Jackson was 7 years younger.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post"> If only Mark Jackson was 7 years younger.</div> I get what you mean now. Sometimes looking at Francis struggle at point guard, even I think that he'd be better suited playing shooting guard. We'll definitely go after a young and able backup this offseason. Sometimes I really wish that Mark Jackson would be young enough to still start. I think that if Jim Jackson is willing, we can move Mobley for a swingman and start Jim at point guard/forward, Francis at shooting guard, and Bostjan Nachbar or the player accquired could play small forward. Jim is going into the Scottie Pippen mould and I think that would allow Francis to flourish. Yao would still be the focal point on offense. This backcourt would be bigger and we can go towards the Allen Iverson/Eric Snow combo in Francis/Jackson.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm sure a Mobley/Bostjan Nachbar for Eric Snow deal might interest Philly.</div> Actually, I wouldn't do that. Cuttino Mobley is only 28, a good shooter and a good friend of Francis. Even though this trade would allow him to return to his hometown, I think that a player like Snow is too old for the Rockets to pursue. Nachbar is a developing young talent who is a good piece of trade bait. However, he is lost with the Rockets and I believe that moving him would help us and him the most. Eric Snow is not worth Mobley and Nachbar. Snow would take a lot away from our three-point accuracy as he is a mediocre shooter. Mobley was the only Rocket who could score when our team was cold, and Snow is not the type. Eric Snow/Francis will look good, but I don't think that giving up Mobley for him is the right answer.
Snow can run an offense, plays very good defense and will get the ball to the guys in the post. The only way you could likely get him if you offered a guy like Mobley. Many of the young point guards are basically untouchable at this stage.
I wouldn't be looking for a deal now. I think that we should stick with the team we have now and look to sign a guard like Earl Watson in the offseason. Or we can look to the draft and bring one in.
This is another fabricated NY Post trade rumor. First off the Hawks are trying to save money, which is why they had the fire sale on SAR and Ratliff, for Sheed's expiring contract.
I would like to see us get him, but not at the expense of Mobley. Veterans are needed on the Rockets team.
I don't think I'd do it. If we are gonna trade francis, we are gonna need someone to fill his position. As much as I like wallace, it's just not the right time for this.
Nonononononono, francis is one of the few guys in the NBA with the killer crossover that prolly only A.I also has. Trading Francis for Sheed...that's turning where the rockets are now to a Grizzlie without Pau Gaysol..man sheed is playing the worst basketball of his life..he looks past his prime, plus he's a troublemaker and a druggie..I wouldn't trade Mo for him
