There have been a couple if minor rumors that Johnson is on the hot seat with the Suns' slow start. Personally, I never liked him as a coach. He has bad substitution patterns, and is infatuated with the "small ball" concept that brought the Suns success during the glory years (well, the glory years without a championship). He has gotten better about the small ball thing, but he would be better served as an assistant. He is a very nice man and coach, but it seems like too many times his teams come out playing without any energy or want to play the game. If anything, the Suns have two great assistants who can fill in the spot, especially Iaovaroni (sp?).

His reluctance to give prized rookie Zarko Cabarkapa extensive minutes early in the season — the 6-foot-11 forward didn't play more than eight minutes in any of the Suns' first four games — didn't sit well with his bosses, who believed they drafted a potential star in Cabarkapa and wanted to see him on the floor. Johnson also angered his bosses when he publicly lamented the loss of forward Bo Outlaw, dealt to Memphis on Sept. 30. Johnson didn't criticize the trade, but his repeated comments about how the club missed Outlaw's defense and hustle were viewed as a shot at general manager Bryan Colangelo.</div> This is starting to become more and more of an issue among management and Suns fans...
