Second year man Frank Williams, the Knicks future at the PG spot, made a huge statement in tonight's impressive win at Memphis. Williams, who shot 8-15 in 25 minutes of play put up 18 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds. He did also turn the ball over 5 times, but this looks like a very encouraging performance nonetheless. This comes two games removed from his previous best effort of the season in which he scored 10 and dropped 9 assists in 23 minutes, while only giving up the ball once. Williams latest performances come at the perfect time, and will no doubt please his new GM, who happens to know a little bit about playing the point in the NBA. So, does this ultimately spell the imminent demise of Charlie Ward's career as a Knick, or at least as the Knicks starting PG? Personally, I would sit Ward and give Williams 25-30 minutes consistently for the next couple of weeks. If that works out well, start shopping CW. I don't see how it wouldn't, but with the Knicks you never know. What does the Knick contingency think?
It's good to see my man, Frankie get some love. I enjoyed him at Illinois, and I know he will succeed at the Nba level.
Here's a good piece from today's NY Daily News on Frank: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketba...72p-132133c.htm
