I was looking at the list of players that were waived on monday through the Espn.com website and I saw Fred Hoiberg's name was on there. I think he would be a good pick up using the lower level exception if we cant pull a michael finley or derek anderson. He is a good three point shooter and thats what our system needs. What do you guys think ?

we have the exact same player but better in Jon Barry.
As of now we need youth. We have that in Head, but he is unproven. We'll see how it all works.

I think Hoiberg could be picked up by the Lakers, not the Rockets. The Lakers have sought after him for a very long time because of the way he fits into the triangle offense as a pure shooter. Look for him to go to LA, and if he doesn't, I'm not sure who else needs him.

exactly on point...how come every player that's waived or a free agent has to have their own thread as a potential Rocket? I wish people would think before they make such threads...

Actually there is a major chance that he may retire due to complications with his heart surgey, because really, why would the T'Wolves waive Hoiberg?

If he doesnt retire, he would be a better backup then bowen. Bowen is an absolute waste on offense. Hoiberg can atleast hit 3s like crazy.

What about ron mercer. Not a great shooter, but better than bowen.

I don't think we need Freddy because of what dakeem said...we already have a Freddy, but a better version of him and more energetic version of him in Jon Barry....we could use that money on a position we need to fill, like a backup for T-Mac...or a PG....doesn't matter I'm just saying that money can be better spent on someone we don't have and not on someone we kind of already have [IMG]

in response to Shooter.. aren't we supposed to discuss topics regarding the rockets. The team is in search of a guard/forward and the team is handcuffed due to salary so these are realisitic options. Yeah we can make trades but who is going to take vin baker moochie and charlie ward this early in the season and waste roster space ?

So yeah we should make topics about these guys because in reality they could be here. Just like how it was speculated that stromile wouldnt come to Houston look what happened.

Hoiberg is 6-2 and Bowen is 6-8. Hoiberg also can do nothing besides hit the three. He can't set up the offense, can't play defense, and doesn't have the ability to play multiple positions. I don't see why we should even go after him, as the team already has enough shooting guards.

Hoiberg is 6-5. He deserves playing time the way Bowen does. His game is one dimensional.
