Freddy Adu's Twiter page makes it look like he's on the move. As he said, "oh so close. news coming soon." So where is he off to? The rumor was that NAC Breda of the Netherlands were looking at him. Why NAC? Earnier Stewart, the 8th American to 100 caps and leading American goal scorer on the international club level, is the technical director. Rumor is that Stewart is looking to add some attacking players and Benifca has no use for Adu at the moment. NAC would be a great move for Adu as he could play there and also have one of the legends of American soccer there to guide him in his development.
He has a better shot with NAC than with Benfica. August 5th, Freddy twittered that he would keep his followers update on his team situation. Then yesterday, news was coming soon. Nothing since though.
Looks like the NAC rumor was more of a logical fit than a story with something behind it. Steven Goff of the Washington Post is reporting Adu to Odense in Denmark. Adu would join Eric Djemba-Djemba there and several Americans in Denmark, like Benny Feilhaber and Michael Parkhurst.
