Stephen Jackson- I fully expect Spurs to try hard to get him back once again. He wanted to return but overpriced himself. However after his great season this year in Atlanta he will want the money which the Spurs can give him. He also hated losing so much with the Hawks. He stated he wants to play for a championship and San Antonio is the place where he truely wants to be. I would be surprised If a deal isn't worked out Mehmet Okur- Soild center who is a very good young talent who can play inside, outside and rebound the ball quite well when given minutes. He still needs to learn to defend better but under Pop's system He should improve in that area. Emanuel Ginoili- We all know how speical a spark Manu is for the Spurs. Guy can play on both ends of the court. Can shoot the ball well and really get out and run. The Spurs need to lock him up for at least 5 years. He is bound to improve which is a scary thought. Brent Barry-Good shooter, can play 3 positions on the floor, can pass the ball well and rebound decently for the spots he plays. He is also a very good leader. I don't see him settling for under the MLE so I doubt he will end up in S.A. I doubt he would want to be Tony Parker's back-up Kobe Bryant- It's VERY unlikely Kobe will end up in S.A. But he will be one of the Spurs options but I doubt they will go after him hard. I fully expect him to re-sign with the Lakers If they win it all but he was a name worth mentioning. There are a few more can be mentioned for example Nick Van Exel, Erick Dampier, Rafer Alston and Marcus Camby
Good list. Priority #1 will be Manu Ginobili and I fully expect him to re-sign with the Spurs. A couple of months ago I thought their biggest need was a backup Point Guard to Parker. They really missed Speedy coming off the bench to this year, but after the way Devin Brown stepped up against the Lakers, he might solve the problem. The perfect compliment to Duncan would be Marcus Camby. He's a great weakside defender and runs the floor extremely well for a big man. He also doesn't need plays run for him to score points, he gets most of his points from offensive rebounds and filling the lane on fastbreaks. Having Camby would take pressure off of Duncan on having to defend the other big men in the West. Camby could match-up against KG, Webber, Malone, and Nowitzki. They could then have Rasho come off the bench, giving them a solid option when Duncan or Camby needs a rest or gets in foul trouble. I'm not sure if the Spurs will bring back Gino & SJax. Both of them are capable of being the starting Shooting Guard and I could see it causing some team chemistry issues.
i hope they can sign SJax, Manu and Camby...damn, now that's a scary thought. with the new addition: C: Camby PF: Duncan SF: Bowen/Brown SG: SJAX PG: TP 6th: ManuMAnia
I see the Spurs going after someone BIG not kobe because he sucks!!, I do see the Spurs makeing a big trade this offseason. Free agency just isnt going to cut-it they need more offense!!!!

However anyways I don't think they would take him either way, he is one of their most hated rivals. I like the sound of getting SJax again, he's proved how good he is. With that in mention, do you think they would, should or could to try and get Speedy Claxton back. It's too bad Malik Rose might be leaving, he'd be able to net you some great guys. How about going for some good bench role players such as Rodney Rodgers, I think he could produce for you well enough. As for starter material, how about Mashburn since he'll be leaving the Hornets, he's strong for a rather small guy and a huge offensive threat, that could be just the ticket to what you need.

That wouldn't be liked by nice guys like Duncan, Ginobili and Parker. They'd rather remain class acts and emotionless.
The Spurs should try and sign a veteran player who can provide them with some valuable minutes down low in the post, backing up Duncan and Nesterovic. Seeing that Pop has completely lost confidence in Malik Rose, Camby would be a good player to have. Other names worth mentioning are Mark Blount and Greg Ostertag. They are all great role players and play stingy defense. However, Blount has had a great season in Boston, and that may raise his value. Also, Ostertag is used to getting big bucks, so he might also ask beyond the Spurs' budget.
I think Elton Brand would be a good fit for the Spurs he has size and he grabs rebounds he doesnt need that much attention. They need another star no more role players? If Tim doesnt have a good game then we need some scoring from someone other than Tim that we can count on
Elton Brand? thats living in a fanasty world. No real chance the Clippers are giving him up unless Tony Parker is included and we all know thats not going to happen. Spurs still need more scoring at the small forward spot, as good as Bowen is on defense he is not a good enough scoring threat to be effective on offensive end. It is nearly always 4 on 5 when the Spurs are on offense. Jamal Mashburn? way too injury prone, he is also getting worse year by year. Spurs don't need older players on their way down. Don't expect any big moves from S.A this summer, Speedy is not returning to the Spurs either. He is happy in Golden State and will have alot more minutes there than in San Antonio.
Hey its offseason in the NBA you never know whats going to happend i know it doesnt make that much sense but the Spurs need to make a BIG move in order to get further in the playoffs. They need more experience players on the bench they are a young team and going to get better as they develop with veteran players how have the experience to take over a game when they need them ex(Steve Kerr game 5 Western Conf. Finals 3-3 form down town with less than 2mins ) They need experience to guide Parker,Ginobli,Brown
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">the Spurs need to make a BIG move in order to get further in the playoffs.</div> They do need to make a couple of moves. But there is no need for a BIG move. They had a legitimate chance to beat the Lakers and win it all. They just came up short, that’s all. But they really need a scorer though. I like the choices of Memhet Okur, Marcus Camby and Brent Barry. Okur and Barry are both good scorers, and Okur has a nice outside game. So that can increase the Spurs perimeter game. As for Marcus Camby he’s proven he can be a good player when he’s healthy that is. Well he had a great season, and wasn’t as injured prone as he’s known for. He fitted well with the Nuggets and might want to take another chance with them. I doubt the Spurs would be able to get him, but I expect the Nuggets to go after him right away.
If the Spurs resign Ginobili, sign Jackson and sign another key FA such as Alston, they'll be in great shape...
Would they need both Ginobili and Jackson? The Spurs have the Turkoglu/Ginobili duo at shooting guard this season and it's working pretty good. Why bring in Stephen Jackson and mess up the rotation?

Turkoglu will hopfully be gone, he dissappeared in the playoffs and failed to be effective on the defensive end. By the sounds, Cleveland want him. If Spurs were smart they would not match any offer and let him go. Bringing back Jack would mean a much higher % of winning the championship back.
I think that Manu will resign with them. He's had good success there over the last couple seasons and he'd be signing with a championship calibur team in the process.
