Cover the bottom 2/3 of an open goal and see who on the team aside from Nash, Stepan and Richards can score.

I talked about this last season. Talbot should lay on his side across the crease sipping a beverage through a straw, while the team takes turns trying to lift the puck over him. We had plenty of scoring chances last year too, but could never finish. AV is learning first hand what Torts went through last season.

Al, I'm sure there are quite a few drills AV can put in that will help players in their shooting techniques. I think the players are still getting over the philosophy of facediving in front of every opponents shot and if they happen to escape injury from that and they can limp fast enough down ice to throw up a half ass shot. I am seeing a lot better more cohesive offense already this season even in the games they don't score many goals they have a lot more opportunities now than they ever did and if they continue with this the goals will come. Sure would like to have gabs with this offense now but he was given away last year for a grinder, a fighter who just gets his ass kicked continuously and a d-man who although can skate like the wind hasn't shown an offensive side yet. I think we have played enough games now that av can go to sather like torts did last year and get the type of players he wants in here. And when that happens the scoring will increase exponentially

That grinder was a offensive force (and one of the few) during the playoffs. We will see but to me there isn't enough talent. .. like last year

Last year there would be 2-3 stretches each game where the Rangers could not clear the puck from their own zone, it got to the point where one opponent could plant himself at the blue line and effectively cover and cancel out three Rangers kicking and poking the puck up the boards. I think AV has distinguished himself from Torts in breakout strategy, power play and general puck movement to create scoring opportunities. I wasn't joking about the tip to AV as another poster pointed out this is a common practice drill, not just close to the net but especially on perimeter shots which can be improved with practice.

Here is my thing..at the end of the year let's look at goal differential. I don't give a shit if we win a game 4-3 or 2-1...what I do care is that this team score more without giving up as many or more goals per game.

For that to happen we probably have to play Prince Cam in the nets more

And even then to compare last year shortened season vs this one isn't too fair but it odd something to look at.
