DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -- Gus Frerotte has moved ahead of A.J. Feeley in the Miami Dolphins' quarterback competition and will start Saturday's exhibition game at Pittsburgh, coach Nick Saban said.

Feeley took few snaps in practice Monday, and Frerotte will work with the No. 1 unit this week, Saban said. ``Right now we feel like Gus is a little bit ahead of A.J.,'' Saban said. ``We're going to give him an opportunity to be the starter in this particular game

Personally i like to see if Gus can make any improvement on this offense.

Go Gus! He played really well as a Viking, but you never know. I'd like to see him get some success.

Anyone else think Linehan might be pulling some strings in the background for Gus?

Hey why not! They should try every QB before making a decision to start Feeley. Gus isnt a bad QB so he could actually do something with the dolphins.

I'm sure it helps that Frerotte is familar with Linehan's system. I do feel for Feeley since he has never really had the confidence of a Dolphins Head Coach. (Feeley was brought in by Rick Spielman.) I'm sure it doesn't help that the system keeps changing on him. While I hope whoever is behind center does well, I just don't know that Frerotte is the answer. I'd like to see the Dolphins pick up a promising young QB than can play for awhile.

Yea it was only a matter of time. I really hate to see it because the Dolphins gave up a 2nd round pick for Feely and now he is just gonna be a backup. Ouch!!

What a dumb move to trade a 2nd for Feely. They could have drafted a better QB in the 2nd round than Feely is.

Every NFL team has to ask, "who gives us the best chance to win right now?" If the answer to that is Frerotte, then good for the Dolphins.

This could also be a move to press Feeley to play better! You never know...

I just heard that the Dolphins (and Giants) are taking a look at Tim Couch. DolfanDale will never let me live it down if I buy a Miami jersey! Just kidding, my Marino jersey is hanging in the closet. I pull for the 'Fins (except when they are playing the Chiefs) since Dale is my best friend.

I think the Giants need a back up QB because Eli is a bit shaky and if he goes down who are they goin to put in?? The Bachelor or Tim Hasselback. Doesnt matter theyre screwed both ways.

Every year I copy four highlight films onto a video tape. Of course, the Dolphins are the first team. I do like the Packers a lot, so they go on second. I root for KCGSC's Chiefs for the same reason he pulls for the Phins, so they go on third. Finally, I put the Super Bowl Champions video on last. I would like to see the Dolphins, Pack or Chiefs win the Super Bowl, so I have to pick another team to go on fourth.

I wouldn't mind seeing Couch get another chance in the league. I wonder how his shoulder is doing these days.

I would love to see Tim Couch play with another team. He basically got wrecked going to the browns, but with a good coach he could be turned back into good form.

Maybe the Bears should look at him because they are gonna be changing QBs most likely a few times during the season, and they could give him a shot
