Who do you guys think will win freshman of the year this year? Josh McRoberts is the best freshman out there but it doesn't appear he is going to get much playing time for Duke. The second best freshman out there would be Julian Wright who heads a touch freshman class for Kansas. A name to throw out there would be Miker Mercer of Georgia, a great talent particullary on the defensive end of the court. Also because of the lack of talent on UNC Tyler Hansbrough is going to get a boat load of playing time. What do you guys think?
I actually think it is going to be McRoberts he is going to start for Duke and when Williams gets in foul trouble or hurt he will get the ball alot and he can make stuff happen.
I think Jon Brockman for Washington will get it. They don't have any size what so ever, and he's starting playing 25-30 minutes in a game IMO
I think my man Mario Chalmers will win it,he is gonna get valuable minutes at Kansas(starting most likely) and will be a great leader for their team.
Kansas has 3 highly touted freshman who all have an equal chance at winning it in Chalmers, Wright, and Rush. It's just a matter of which one steps up and becomes their #1 guy. The kid down inn Oklahoma State could sneak up and surprise some people too in Keith Brumbaugh. He and sophomore JamesOn Curry should be Oklahoma State's main scoring threats, IMO.
I wouldn't sleep on one of Zona's freshman (Onobun, Price, or Williams) being that Jawann McClenllan is not going to play the first semester because of his grades. Maybe someone like Prince or Onobun can step up big and maybe show that they deserve freshman of the year.

From the end of the blowouts, I've liked what I've seen from Verdejo last year. He a use to Box, so he's got very quick hands and is very agressive. He can shoot outside somewhat from what I've seen.
