Fresno State spokeswoman Shirley Armbruster confirmed Friday the school was notified about phone call violations by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, but she declined to comment further.

The notice alleges that former coach Ray Lopes far exceeded the number of calls to a recruit allowed per week under college basketball rules, according to The Fresno Bee.
