The Tigers, normally I'd say tough assignment, this year they have been streaky, but only 3 games back in their division so they want to win. That being said I think the Yankees have a shot at this series depending on whose aging veteran group excels. Given the starters lines I'd give the Yankees the pitching upside if the Big Man stays consistent with his last few appearances.

Yankees Manager Joe Girardi said that Rob Refsnyder will serve as the Primary First Baseman for the time being as per Erik Boland.

what did Gadnah (Cap'n Smurf) do to get out of his slump...? He called Kevin Long-doh-:hcp:

damned, either swing at the ball or don't, fkng check swings. I love Castro's fire, and heart for the game (in his own backyard), but he's gotta' up that avg. Time to put the free swinging bat away, and use the field, hit for avg. Or better yet- know when to do either, like O'Neill, Jeter, Donnie BB, & many others....

DD lucked out, Upton and any other LF'r should of made that catch, routinely, stole 2 runs, damn near 3...

Beltran keeps on hammering away, keep it up Thor-

    Good.
Time to find something out about this kid....and he's earned it.
Paid his dues- up and down minors/majors, bounced around different positions at both places and still gave a good account of himself with the bat.

Yankees came to bat, chickie arrived home with groceries so I helped her unload. By the time I got back I realized I missed a rare sight, Gregorius with a 2 out RBI double.

Sabathia's ERA since May 1st is 0.71. Who would've predicted this?

...^^^not sure how he's getting it done, but I don't really care either. It's not like he's dominating hitters but he's still getting them out.

Like Girardi going with Swarzak to start the 9th.
Put the "book" down for a moment Joe- allow him at least one baserunner and let's see if we can buy some more time for the big three down the road.

Keep it going against Verlander tomorrow. He has been doing too much partying with Upton.

Sabathia made the pitches he needed to make to get out of jams and prevent the big innings. Just what the Yankees needed him to do to become successful. His adjustments have worked. The '16 Tiger Team is not as potent as a couple years ago, but they still have people who can go yard with men on base. Sabathia did escape some jams tonight and got just enough from his offense to get a W.
