I know it lingered though most of last season and will cut into practice time (Bosh being a player that benefits greatly from practice). Do you see it being a huge problem for the team? Or it could cause them to drop even as low as 9th or 10th in the conference? Matching up against KG and Randolph to go along with Howard, and 'Sheed, this season might take a huge toll on CB4.

A: I see it being a problem, but not a huge one. You know he's going to get the best, most aggressive treatment he can between now and the start of training camp, as well as the rest that really helps.

I know he needs to practice but don't forget he somehow he muddled through last year without missing a single game because of the foot (his December absence was due to a knee problem) so he does know how to handle it.

If he misses a lot of games, say a quarter of the season, I can see them being life and death to make the playoffs, but every indication I've got over the last couple of days is that pulling out of the Olympic qualifier is very much a precautionary measure.

There's certainly no reason to panic right now, let's see how things develop between now and Nov. 1 before there's any need for the angst that seems to go hand-in-hand with being a Raptors fan.

Q: How can you call New Orleans a bottom 5 "dog" game?

No, you're right Doug. What's the appeal in seeing the return of MoPete, the longest serving Raptor in team history? Why would any true Raps fan want to pay him a tribute? Who wants to watch one of the top 5 playmakers in the league anyway in Chris Paul?

Well, kudos for saving fans from being in that dull atmosphere. Catching the Sacramento game in mid-January will be a lot more exiting!

    Milt Mednick, Toronto

A: Wow, we've got the sarcasm going strong today, don't we? Well done.

You will forgive a doddering old man a mind blip every now and then, won't you? The Mo Pete angle slipped my mind; all I remember about New Orleans is, Chris Paul notwithstanding, it's a singularly boring team to watch. Although I do get to say hi to Darrell Walker and that's always entertaining.

Anyway, take the Hornets off the dog list; replace them with the Kings, if you must. And, without Elton Brand, you can probably add the Clippers to a team that's less than entertaining.
