Former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) wasn’t impressed with two-time light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson’s performance against WBC light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal last Saturday night in Montreal, Canada. Froch, 33, thinks he would beat Dawson if they were to fight, and he also thinks all of the other Super Six tournament fighters would beat him as well. In an interview at Livefight.com, Froch says “He [Dawson] says he can make 168 lbs still but after seeing his strength and his fitness at 175 lbs being a bit questionable, I think that would be a bad move to head down as I reckon any one of the Super Six would have his number.” I don’t know about that. If Dawson turns his game around, ups his work rate and becomes more aggressive, I think he would beat most of the Super Six tournament fighters except for Andre Dirrell and Andre Ward. Those two guys would probably be too much for Dawson. But I see Dawson easily beating Froch based on his superior hand speed, southpaw stance and better boxing skills. I’d like to see the fight. Dawson was beaten by Pascal by an 11 round technical decision after being cut above his right eye from a head butt.
