According to the latest news, World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch could be facing 42-year-old Glen Johnson (51-14-2, 35 KO’s) on May 21st at three possible venues of Montreal, England or Las Vegas. Froch says he wants the fight to take place in England. However, it’s up in the air right now where the fight will ultimately land. Froch was recently sick with the flu, which made an earlier March 19th date undo-able. In an interview at the BBC Radio 5 Live, Froch said “Of my last four fights, only one was at home and that was at 3 AM in the morning. I would love England to give my fans the chance to see me in action, but this is world-class boxing and sometimes you have to get away to the States.” Froch won his last fight against Arthur Abraham by a lopsided 12 round decision last November in a very important fight for Froch. Going into the bout, Froch was talking retirement if he lost the fight. However, he performed well and dominated a demoralized and badly out-gunned Abraham in that fight.
