<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In his Knick debut last night, top pick Channing Frye looked fine on the offensive end, showed his quickness on the low post and his deft jumper from 19-feet. The 6-foot-11 center even wore a red welt under his left eye after getting elbowed after dunking on Nedzad Sinanovic. But Frye, who finished with 16 points in the Knicks' 93-89 loss to Portland, was weak on the boards, grabbing three rebounds in 27 minutes. Frye didn't post big rebounding numbers at Arizona, either. "It's anticipation, and my attention to the quicker game," Frye explained. "I felt I was step slow today on the boards. I had my hands on balls but lost it at the last second. Tomorrow I'll get more boards." Frye shot just 5-of-15 but missed a lot of easy ones around the basket. He established low post position easily, an encouraging sign. Meanwhile, the third of the Knicks' three first-round picks, Florida power forward David Lee, may have been the most impressive yesterday. Lee is an animal attacking the basket and getting offensive boards. He finished with nine points and seven rebounds, looking smoother than Michael Sweetney. </div> Source
Yeah, he really needs more time to get used to the bigger and more burly players of the NBA.. *cough* Ha Seung Jin *cough*. Anyways, I think people need to give him some more time before we make any judgements. I mean Bosh wasn't THAT good in summer league his rookie season either.
They said that his struggles in rebounding was partly due to Portland playing zone. He did a better job of rebounding today, though.
