Bush was admitted to an intensive care unit on Wednesday, and his wife, Barbara, was hospitalized as a precaution, according to his spokesman. The former president was admitted to the ICU at Houston Methodist Hospital to “address an acute respiratory problem stemming from pneumonia,” family spokesman Jim McGrath said in a statement. McGrath said the former first lady was hospitalized as a precaution after experiencing fatigue and coughing.
It's really common for elderly people. My dad collapsed on Monday and was taken by ambulance to the hospital so I spent the day in the ER. Then last night he collapsed again and didn't even have time to get his hands out. He totally face planted and ended up with 10 stitches over his eyebrow. Awful night but he's a trooper. Anyway, I learned a couple things... They do chest xrays right away because of the risk of pneumonia in the elderly and they also check urine because the most common cause of collapse for the elderly is a urinary tract infection. Who knew! I haven't had any sleep and am rummy right now, hopefully that made sense. Anyway, hopefully the Bush's will be okay.
If your dad is half as feisty as you are I'm sure he will make a quick recovery. Best of wishes to you and your family.
My father in law is 80+ and he's been having issues lately. Hospitalized 2-3 times in the past few months. Shit happens when you get old.
He is a crack up. He has frontal lobe dementia but is still pretty with it. So after he collapsed on Monday the nurse at the retirement home where they live told them to pull the panic cord first so the nurses station will know there's and emergency, then call 911. Well last night Mom was sick and went to bed early. She has 2 cochlear implants and can't wear them to sleep so she is profoundly deaf and didn't hear Dad fall. He managed to remember to crawl to the room and pull the panic cord himself. Mom was woken up by the night nurse who had already called 911. We're so incredibly lucky, he lost a ton of blood and could've laid there all night. Anyway, by the time we were getting him discharged he was telling everyone, "you should see the other guy!"
Dude, that sucks. My thoughts and prayers to you. I knew a guy who died 2 weeks ago from pneumonia. He suffered 5 weeks in the hospital with it, and he was a healthy, hard-working mechanic. That stuff is some nasty shit. I can't even imagine what it's like for the elderly.
I blame the Egyptian god of darkness that has been awoken by 4chans meme magik. They opposed trump, and now they must pay the price.
