Typical sign of a great player that torts didnt allow to play his game in the playoffs, so far its his 4th goal in LA this playoffs and this game is not over. ...

he would be great right now especially in this pens series. i would love for him to return as a UFA (if he is one i think he is), end of this season, him and AV would be a good fit.

Umm he scored 40 goals twice as a ranger and 6 playoff goals as a ranger. ..if your going to bash the former coach this isn't a good example.

On top of that, if you want Gabby and his 7.5 mill cap hit back, make sure you adjust the roster accordingly and take some solid players and depth away, since we were right up against the cap, and if we had Gabby a lot of these players would have to be gone...

Can't we ever just be happy and excited for what the team is doing now. Love Ranger fans...:).

Why anyone would try bringing up the former coach to make a point right now is beyond me....

Marian Gaborik was one of two players in the entire NHL who scored 40 goals 2 out of 3 years in his first 3 seasons here, and he did it playing a style that was not suited to his game. That was one of the reasons he seemed to break down by seasons end.

That said, seeing how this team is playing this year, we had to make that deal. One of the reasons we're having success right now is that for the first time in years we're rolling 3 lines that can score. Remember our third line last year when we had Gabby and Nash? Ill give you a clue, it was centered by a guy whose name rhymes with Ryan Royal, and it was a disaster. The cap was so tight, the only guy we could afford to sign was a 57 year old Jasom Arnott who couldn't even pass a physical.

I would have loved to see Gabby in AV's system. But the guys we have now seem to be working just fine.

obvioulsy we know that at 7.5 he wouldn't fit here, but if he would take a pay cut im sure sather would make it work, but i doubt he will come back, he probably loves LA and on that top line....

oh and al, i bring up torts and gabby because he put him in the dog house and tried to ruin his career...... always benching him and he got the shit end of the stick all the time, was driven out of here and nobody even cared because at the time we had nash... now i rather have gabby then nash ATM. He had 6 goals in the playoffs as a ranger? Damn i can't remember that, all i remember is how the boards bashed him everytime he couldn't carry the team in the playoffs prolly cuz torts had him blocking shots left and right. I personally liked gabby, i think he was a class act.

I do like brassard dont get me wrong im not saying i wouldn't do the trade again i was just saying how he would be a good fit in AV system
