No David Beckham, no Landon Donovan, no problem for the Galaxy on Sunday.

Chad Barrett and Omar Gonzalez scored goals, the latter proving to be the eventual winning goal in the 72 nd minute, to give the Galaxy a2-1 victory over the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill.

The Galaxy ended their longest road trip of the season, three games in nine days, with a hard-earned victory that was accomplished despite the absence of Beckham (suspended for yellow-card accumulation), Donovan (right knee inflammation) and also midfielder Juninho, who was suspended for Sunday's game after he received a red card late during last Wednesday's 0-0 tie with Toronto FC.
