Galliani Confirms That Milan Will Not Be Appealing
Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has reiterated the stance he took after yesterday’s game and says that the club will not be appealing to UEFA over the incident involving Dida.
The Brazilian keeper was struck by a Celtic fan who had run onto the pitch to celebrate his team’s last minute winner. Although contact seemed minimal Dida collapsed to the ground and had to be stretchered off the pitch.
"We don't expect anything from Uefa,” Galliani told journalists this afternoon outside Malpensa Airport.
“They should do what they think is most appropriate, but Milan's position is clear: we will not be making any appeal. What about Dida? Well our goalkeeper was hit, and I don't think that is right.”
UEFA communications director William Gaillard has revealed that a decision over what to do will be taken shortly.
“One of our prosecutors will look at the evidence and decide whether to open an investigation,” he told England’s Sky Sports News.
“I don’t want to presume anything. There is a whole range of possible punishments, but of course there are precedents for the same kind of incidents.”

Adriano Galliani
