This was a Mediocre Man kind of victory.

Big difference between hitting open shots in spot minutes off the bench and trying to be one of a team's main scorerers. He's just proving that he's not starting material. Your starting center should be able to do more than hit open jumpers. And Meyers really isn't good at anything else.

Exactly. I think Portland needs to really think about experimenting with a different rotation, one that involves a lesser role for Meyers. I'd play aminu some at PF and give Harkless more minutes.

I don't know about you but I never believed all the hype that was put into Nards by certain posters or Blazer media.. About Nards being one of the teams main scorers. Outside of Lillard no one on this years team has proved they can go 82 and be consistent.
But I don't believe pulling the man from the minutes he's getting after 2 games in a clear rebuilding year is wise...
I mean Nards has always needed live game action... Due to the simple fact of the lack of basketball experience the guy has.
Let him make mistakes and figure it out. If he's shown anything in the time he's been with the Blazers it's that he can go from a guy I believe should be glue'd to the bench to a guy who actually deserves to get run. Especially on a non-playoff team in rebuilding mode.

You guys are talking about Leonard's shooting. I'm thinking of all his mistakes tonight. I'm not thinking about his shooting. Half the times Lillard would pass to him, he wasn't looking and lost the possession to the Suns. When a Sun dribbled within 10 feet of the basket, Leonard would decide he should guard someone else and open a lane for the dribbler to the basket. On and on and on. Multiple examples for each type of error.

It was so bad I didn't notice his shooting, which is all you guys talk about. Why, was that bad, too?

I'm still waiting for Leonard and Crabbe to show any signs of taking the next step this season. Still 80 games left but I'm definitely not holding my breath for them.

Crabbe isn't worth much in a trade, but we could fool some team into giving us a decent young starter for Leonard.

Yes please. I was wondering where he was going to find his minutes but it's becoming very apparent he should be taking all of Crabbe's.

Aw Riverman, you're just agreeing with me to be a nice guy. You don't have to do that for me. I know you love Meyers Leonard like a son.

hahaha...I mentioned selling high on him this summer and packaging him with Kaman and Connaughton when his stock was inflated...for Paul George..I thought Larry Bird would take Leonard with the midwestern connection and all

Meyers was due for a slump..a one game losing streak is cause for slight grumbling, two games a panic attack, three games you fire the coach and blow up the team right?

I don't understand this idea we can get Derozan or Paul George latley. Those guys are literally their franchise players. Is Lillard available ? Those teams treat those players like we treat Lillard..

    It will never ever happen..

Except there were rumors that they were thinking about trading him this last summer because they didn't think he was worth a max.

I still enjoyed that game, and I like the way we competed. There will be some tough nights on the road.

I also enjoyed the nostalgic look at first-year Meyers.
