It bothers me how often Kanter doesn't even get his hands above his head when playing defense. NBA guys can hit 10-foot jump shots and floaters going to the hoop. You gotta at least make them see something besides the basket...
It also bothers me that it seems his court awareness is lacking, or behind the speed of the game. He is physically very quick once he does something, but it seems his decision motor is as slow as Meyers. Kanter just makes up for it with really quick, jerky movements to then beat the defender for the put back, but Ive seen many times where a pass or rebound is right for him and its almost bouncing off his face before he gets it. He still gets the handle alot, but its fumbled at first. I think its because he isn't seeing things slow enough on the court. If he could just get his court awareness to catch up to his physical speed, I bet that would do wonders for his defense as well.
