<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Jason Kidd passed, shot and rebounded like a healthy player. And that's exactly what Sam Mitchell believes he was.

Even as he was getting his team ready for Sunday night's Game 4 of its playoff series, the Toronto coach wasn't done talking about Kidd.

Kidd's sensational effort led New Jersey to a 102-89 victory Friday night and a 2-1 lead over the Atlantic Division champion Raptors.

"He didn't look hurt to me last night," Mitchell said Saturday. "We should all play that well. A triple-double with the numbers he had? If that's injured, then I'd like to see him when he's healthy."

Kidd had 16 points, 16 rebounds and a playoff career-high 19 assists in his 10th career postseason triple-double, joining Wilt Chamberlain and Fat Lever as the only players in NBA playoff history to have 15 or more in all three categories.

It came a day after Kidd missed practice because of a bruised left knee. Mitchell didn't seem to believe Kidd was hurt after the game, and he was even less convinced by Saturday afternoon.

"Why you keep talking about if Jason Kidd is really hurt and he just did something that only one of three players in the NBA has done?" Mitchell said. "That's like asking Bill Gates is he broke.

"The man just did something only three players in the history of the NBA has done and all the questions I'm getting is, 'Do you think he was faking, do you think he was really hurt?' He just set a record, what do you think?"

Earlier in the day, Kidd seemed somewhat annoyed when asked about Mitchell's comments Friday night, when he said the Nets star had a "so-called injury."

"That's their opinion," Kidd said. "They don't have to see me go through what I have to go through to get ready."

Kidd, who took part in the Nets' light workout Saturday, is averaging 12.7 points, 12.3 rebounds and 13.7 assists through the first three games. He is trying to become the first player to average a triple-double in a postseason series since he did it against the Boston Celtics in the 2002 Eastern Conference finals.

His rebounding and passing enabled New Jersey to get its transition game going right from the start Friday night, and the Nets finished with a 22-6 advantage in fast-break points.

The Raptors vowed to play better transition defense in Game 4. To win Sunday and regain home-court advantage, they also need leading scorer Chris Bosh to solve his woes in New Jersey. </div>

Agreed. With NJ stealing homecourt adv. from us with a win in game 1, I dont think we can win a game 6 back in New Jersey if we lose tonight.

Looks like Bargs is starting tonight. A huge gamble with how he's played so far but can't get much worse than Graham I guess.

I think the Raps will take this game. I still predict the Raptors over the Nets because this team is still adapting to a tougher atmosphere, but I'm not certain about the series ending in six games. I may have to go with seven.

    My predictions,

If New Jersey wins this one, and another one, I'd say New Jersey wins the series.

However if Toronto wins this one, and a couple more, we'd get the series.

Anyway, I think we got to prevent easy baskets, make Kidd and RJ into jumpshooters, and Vince into a fadeaway jumpshooter.

I got it. Thanks for picking that up.

It's kind of a cliche now, but this is definitely a must win. The thing is, if we manage to win, we have all the momentum on our side after a terrible Game 3. We're heading back home to our crazy home crowd and we haven't lost to any team in our home court twice this season.

Putting Bargnani in the starting lineup really surprised me. I figured it'd be Mo-Pete. I think Mitchell's kind of resigned himself to the fact that we need his 3 pt. shooting to really have a chance to win this game. It's a gamble, but it might be enough to get him into the feel of the game early. If he's missing wide open 3's though, I see a real quick substitution.

Bargnani in the starting lineup could be a decent shakeup. He'll be hard to guard out on the 3 point line. It will be more important for him to get back quick on defense though ... he gets burned quite a bit for running back slow i've noticed.

Bargnani starting tonight? That might work out for the better because he's a bright kid who adapts extremely well to tactics and situations. That's why I was so high on him before the Draft. It'd be nice if Garbajosa would be back, but isn't he going to out for the entire Playoffs regardless of how deep the Raps can go? Good luck tonight though and it should be a good one. The Raps know what mistakes they've made in that last game, which was just plain horrible.

No chance of Garbs being back at any point in the playoffs. He has a huge amount of rehab ahead of him.
