I like your point, but you'd better cut Bird out of that - he was one of the biggest trashtalkers in the history of the NBA.

A lot of players considered him the best trash talker they ever played against.

If Jake gets yanked regardless, why would that make him play harder? If hes not getting rewarded when he does, then theres no incentive. Just seems like you making up something to praise Stotts about which is actually a negative.

I believe it started last game when Collins fouled out, and was irate on the bench. CJ mockingly tried to calm him down. I think Colllins actually even threw a towel at him.

So when Collins fouled out again this game, both CJ and Leonard started the meditation pose again.

Larry Bird is well known for being one of, if not THE biggest trash talkers in league history.

    Also, Jaron Blossomgame?

That might be the best name in the NBA right now. Dude's got some game too.

Not sure about the "nothing else" part. His defense is getting better and better. Over and over, I see him cause a very challenged shot that often is a miss because of his length and then elevation on the contest. His movement on offense, even when he doesn't score, creates opportunities for teammates and open lanes or creates angles.

Some of those are small things but it is things that not a lot of other players on the roster are doing....or can do.

Try going back and watching Manu play when he was 22-23 years old and get back to me. Some of us followed him before he was in the NBA.

I didn't realize Zach was frustrated again. He probably won't get any calls until next year.

Like 95% of his fouls are legit. Refs don't give him the benefit of doubt but he hasn't really earned it either. He reaches all the time and is slow footed when helping.

I guess i could be a little more specific. Energy! He has much of the same energy. Second leaping ability. Although Manu could be considered better because of size Jake is still very good. Next would be hands. Jake has the ability to catch and direct like Manu did. Passing would be next. Jake has shown the ability to pass very well. Then there is cutting and overall Basketball Intelligence. Manu was crafty and sneaky smart. Jake seems to be that same. Then there is shooting. Jake can shoot the ball.
In My Humble Opinion Jake has many of the same qualities. Now will he get the same chances to show them?

I think the better word is "a few " of the same qualities. I love Jake's potential but they are two entirely different types of players.
Mainly because Manu had such good handles. He was so crafty with his change of speed that he drew so many fouls. Plus he was a great defender and passer.
Manu was more of a combo Guard /SF. Jake is all forward and more of a high flyer IMO

I think Jake compares to Manu in that he is constantly in motion without the ball...energizer bunny energy on the court....he also is quick to exploit in the paint which Manu was famous for....starting his 3rd season I'd say Jake has impressed in a very small sample size..

Well yes indeed he is 3 inches taller and does play forward so that's a good point.

That was kind of where i was going. They do play different positions though. So there is that. Just can't really think of another player that moves without that ball the same way that is a forward?

He wasn't a PF but at SF I'd say Rip Hamilton was a guy who moved really well without the ball..tough cover
