No rest for the weary. The Blazers are at it again, one night after beating the Lakers on Kobe's memorial night in Los Angeles.

Will this be the classic letdown game?

After such an emotional event/incredible victory against on national TV, is it inevitable that the Blazers to come out flat and tired against the Jazz, a team that isn't the best in the West; a team that doesn't have quite the star power; in a venue that is opposite of the glitz/glamour of L.A.; with no national TV coverage?

Perhaps, but Portland has 3 straight wins, all against teams over .500. This Blazers are playing arguably their best stretch of basketball of the entire season, so overcoming emotional and physical fatigue is within the realm of possibility. And with Dame being absolutely en fuego lately, a "W" is always within reach.

Utah may be the Jazz, but Lillard has been playing some sweet string music! Rock on, Dame!

Also, why is this a back-to-back? The Blazers next game (on the road) is Tuesday, so they could've scheduled this game on Sunday to give the Blazers some rest.

Is it because the Blazers organization didn't want this game to be competing with Superbowl Sunday?

The NBA usually doesn't go up against the Super Bowl, it would be a very bad thing to do to season ticket holders. There are usually games in the morning only.

Now this is what they call a "Schedule Loss" in the very definition of the statement. I just don't know how they could go through that kind of game last night and not have a let down?
Gotta dig deep for this one.
Go Blazers!
Kjironman is a fan!!!

Man, last night was epic. I agree, given their past history they could easily lose this game. I don't expect it though. When they win this, it's going to be part of a serious run for the playoffs. We are a dangerous team now. Come on Nurk, Zach and Skal! We need you soon....

I think it's more likely we see Trent or Little.

AD at 4 was why we saw Wenyen start last night.

Wenyen needs to play behind Melo over Swanigan. Trent can play back up guard, Little back up behind Ariza. We need Wenyen's energy on defense. He was a big part of beating LA.

Just let Wenyen back up both Melo and Whiteside for now. We don’t lose anything with him at center over Swanigan. Biggie might outweigh him by a million pounds, but his actual play strength is shit.
Swanigan did a lot of good things on the court last night and Mark Jackson actually praised him for it.

Fuck the NFL. Give me NBA basketball any day of the week over the Super Bowl.

But that's just my opinion. I'm sure the players would want to watch the game.

No, last night's win over the Lakers was not the best Blazers regular season win that I can remember... not even close. It was an emotional game for both teams which may have made the game seem more important than it really was.

It was an important win for the Blazers though, and easily their biggest win of this season. Going into the Lakers house and getting a win is never an easy feat.

Yeah he actually sets good screens. That's very important for Dame.

Edit: Also was this game supposed to be on national tv or something? Why the 7:30 start? Normally it's 7pm.

It’s that time of year again to get excited. Let’s go Blazers!

Maybe they pushed it cuz of our late start last night.

I just can’t see this winning streak ending at home... Blazers win tonight. Take the +190 as easy money. The next game at Denver will be tough though.

After last night with the emotion, a b2b with travel, I have a hard time believing we'll pull this one out

BTW, after the recent stretch of play Dame is at 29.4ppg, 7.8apg for the season.

In history, wanna know how many have kept that up? It's happened 14 times, but if you take out Oscar Robertson's Wilt-like hammerlock on the stat (7x), it looks like this:

Tiny Archibald
Harden (2x)
Iverson
LeBron
Jordan
Westbrook

Both Dame and Trae Young are on pace for it this year.
