I would be stunned if the Pens didn't play a big game today. They need to win this game.

If the Rangers win, any debate for 3rd is over.

It would certainly put at least one nail in the proverbial coffin.

Rangers win they'd be 9 up with 16 remaining. If we only get 16 points after today (50%), we'd be up 25 points. Pens would need 25 of 32 points to tie - 78%. Very unlikely.

Also, game that will go a long way in deciding the Met, and our most likely round 1 opponent, is tonight in NJ. Should be a fun watch.

Igor seems to have a bit of mental block in Pitt. More than team with him in net. Like Halak to start.

Thought I saw some chemistry with Laffy and Kane last game. Chytil has sucked lately.

I also like Laf and Kane together, I think their games mix well. I think separating Panarin and Kane is the right play.

    Pan/Z/Tara
    Laf/Tro/Kane
    Kreider/Chytil/Kakko
Motte/Good/Vesey (Motte played well in Buffalo - I like his game - Good needs to step it up a bit)

BTW - if we cannot keep everyone, the guy I would trade this off-season is Kakko. I just don't see it with him. I don't care who is to blame, not opening that up again, just saying I am not seeing what I think we need to see, and to me he should be odd man out if we need to choose. Only issue is value, and we'd be selling low, which is not smart.

Agree kakko , Shame of it all kid has good size but doesn’t seem he’ll ever know how to use it. Thought he was gone last year.

Rangers need to show their dominance, and it begins today.

    go rangers

Why is it always we need to move a young home grown player? They’ve kept Kreider all this time. They need to find a way to keep all three Laf, Kakko, Chytil

I love that Crosby checks Z up high but no call and then seconds later Z is called for a penalty. At this point, Harpur has one purpose…head hunt. If the NHL and refs wanna play this game, take someone out. Heck, if last protocol based upon the Motte hit says anything, high hits aren’t suspension worthy. Spitting is. Headhunting and player safety is secondary.

Chytl gets hooked trying to shoot the puck, no call. The refs look the other way.

I am kind of tired of Panarin to be honest. Knowing we cannot keep everyone, you guys know there is a salary cap in hockey right, in an ideal world I deal Panarin, but he will probably block any move. I am not advocating just dealing Kakko for no reason, I am saying if we had no choice and we need to move on from someone without a NMC (not Trouba, not Kreider, not Panarin - all have a NMC), I would move Kakko before Chytil and Laf and Miller.

The word to describe how this team plays is reckless. There is risk/reward, but they go way beyond that. They make low % cross ice plays all the time, led by Panarin. Add in the fact they don't shoot enough, and it isn't a good mix. There is one person who can maybe get this team doing the right things, Gallant, and I admit my belief is low he'll do it and hold these guys accountable. It is tough to watch lazy cross ice pass after lazy cross ice pass, don't get it deep, and don't shoot.

Ball is in your court Gallant.
