Bynum is back tonight and better be ready to defend the pick and roll. I wonder if the Lakers go with zone tonight?
I'm not terribly worried about the Suns. They play zero defense and eventually, Steve Nash's back is going to flare up and cause some issues later in the year. Should be a fun game tonight though, we'll see if the Lakers can slow the pace down a bit or of if they let it turn in to a shootout. Any word on Gasol? I assume he's out, just wondering if anyone had heard anything different.
Gasol is out, but Bynum is in. Suns played last night, but coasted against the Hornets so their starters should be ready to go. The Phoenix bench is what concerns me tonight. They have a lot of fire power off the bench and our backup PGs get coaxed into playing Phoenix style basketball instead of running the Triangle. Should be an entertaining game and the Lakers better be ready to play transition defense and close out on those shooters!
Which reminds me, I haven't seen any Suns game so far this year but, how have Grant Hill and J-Rich been? I know last year JRich's role as a secondary scorer was in jeopardy and Hill was getting up again.
JRich has been on fire to start the season. The main difference in their success has been Frye's ability to hit 3's and space the floor out for Nash to operate in the paint. Last year the Suns didn't have that flexibility on offense with Shaq. Hill's been solid every game and the Suns have a lot of depth off the bench at the forward positions. Jared Dudley, Amundson, Clark the rookie. Suns have 6 players averaging double digit scoring.
I've only seen some highlights of the Suns, and J-Rich was on fire in the games that I saw highlights for, he was like shooting 6-7 from 3 and another game he had a very good % as well.
