First this game was DAMN GOOD! It was a roller coaster of emotions!! Being at the game I can say, the crowd was on fire 3 out of 4 quarters. Frost took the crowd out in the 2nd with three series of bone head calls to end the half and gave MSU great field position for some easy scores. Otherwise Autzen was electric!!! Oh and damn hot too, 105 in the stands! They should have aimed a couple water fan blowers to the stadium no one would have cared!! End of the game there were more water bottles left in the bleachers than beer cans! HAHAHA! Back to the Game! Let's not take anything away from Cook or that MSU offense, they'll still win the Big 10 I feel very confident, and I also believe Cook will be a Heisman front runner for next year. This kid can play!! He has a great RB and two good receivers. I'd say a more accurate version of Hogan for Stanford. MSU's defense was everything I thought they'd be! Disciplined, aggressive, and at times pretty dirty! They flushed and sacked Marcus a few times and they laid paint on our receivers early to make them hear footsteps. The key to me here was would our receivers punk out once they were rocked because they are a young core? Answer HELL NOOOOOOOOO!! These kids earned their scholarships last night! MSU's defense is no JOKE!!! At the same time Allen and Carrington earned monster respect! Oregon's Offense.... Marcus found rhythm early and I feel the 2nd quarter let down was more play calling than anything else. Piss poor by Frost! That said Marcus threw no pics, no fumbles and rallied the troops huge in the second half! I will say nothing on Rolls, he's what I told ya'll he'd be! We are blessed! Now Allen is just a scary deep ball threat and if he gets 10 yards of build up speed he's gone! Big receiver, physical too. As for Carrington, just nice feet good body control, ready to be the #1 situation receiver I think hence forth. Would have like to see more from Stanford, maybe next week. Now a ????, where were our TE's all game? Mystery! With Andre going down I think many thought OOO SHIT!!!! However Crosby came in and when Royce scored his 2nd TD he was the primary O line blocker on that play. I think we'll be okay. Remember we were still facing a top 3 defense in the country, not to shabby for a bunch of freshman! Duck Defense! AA, Buckner and Balducci did there jobs all game! The secondary for the first half gave a big cushion to the Spartan receivers causing big gains and the LB's except for Palos Verdes finest Joe Walker didn't show up till the second half! I can tell you this every honest Duck fan at half time was at least thinking... "HERE WE GO AGAIN" with the D! 3rd quarter and Pellum made great adjustments and the D pinned their ears back and went DEVIL DOG on those SPARTANS and the crowd was reveling in their grit play by play! AA was jumping around Walker was laying paint and Ifo took the secondary over. MSU didn't know what hit them! Cook was gotten too and rushed big time. Held to only a FG for the half is freaking AMAZING!!!! Ladies and Gentleman our defense just figured out how to play physical and the page for true greatness has just been turned! I would definitely single out Ifo, AA, Buckner and Walker for this win. They showed up!! Cool tidbits..... Best non play of the game, Marcus coming out to the defensive huddle on the field and firing up the D! Yes this kid has learned now to lead! MSU fans were being jerks at halftime. Bumping their gums about, I thought this was the loudest stadium in football, where's the crowd, maybe Sparty has spoken and bunk like that! To see their faces mid 3rd and 4th once we turned on the jets was priceless and I must say Duck fans could have heckled these guys right back to Michigan but showed true class! Great game, great atmosphere and a national answer to our critics who say we don't know how to play tough! Our D may not be perfect, but yesterday our Duck D began to really believe they can be good! GO DUCKS!!
