AL: BOSTON (66-43) at SEATTLE (60-47) <h3>Red Sox hope to break drought vs. Mariners</h3> <div class="pre">Boston (66-43) at Seattle (60-47) 10:05 pm EDT</div> SEATTLE (Ticker) - The Boston Red Sox try to end a nine-gamelosing streak at Safeco Field on Saturday when they face theSeattle Mariners. The Mariners took Friday's contest, 7-4, spoiling the homecomingof Boston starter Jon Lester, a native of Tacoma, Washington.The lefthander was making his third start of the season aftercoming back from non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Seattle's top prospect, outfielder Adam Jones, made his seasondebut on Friday in left field and clubbed a pair of hits andscored two runs. The Red Sox will turn to Daisuke Matsuzaka (12-8, 3.75 ERA) toend the slide. The Japanese righthander will be making hisfourth start already in his rookie campaign against countrymanIchiro Suzuki and the Mariners. Matsuzaka got knocked around bySeattle in his first three starts, going 0-1 with a 4.95 ERA. Ichiro is just 1-for-8 with three strikeouts against Matsuzakaon this side of the Pacific. Seattle will counter with Jarrod Washburn (8-7, 4.11). Theveteran lefthander has struggled of late, going 0-1 with a 5.87ERA over his last four starts. The Red Sox have always been a problem for the 10-year veteran,who owns a 3-3 career mark with a 4.66 ERA in 10 career startsagainst them.
