<h3>Georgia, Auburn resume "Deep South's Oldest Rivalry" in Athens</h3>

No. 18 Auburn (7-3) at No. 10 Georgia (7-2) 3:30 pm EST

ATHENS, Georgia (Ticker) -- For whatever reason, Georgia has nothad much success of late against Southeastern Conference rivalAuburn at Sanford Stadium.


The 10th-ranked Bulldogs hope to end their home woes against the18th-ranked Tigers when the "Deep South's Oldest Rivalry"resumes on Saturday.


Georgia is just 9-18 all-time against Auburn in Athens and haswon just one of the last seven matchups here.


Last year, the Bulldogs ended a two-game skid in the rivalrywith a 37-15 rout in Auburn.


Georgia (7-2, 4-2 SEC East) holds a half-game lead overTennessee atop the division, but the Volunteers have a game inhand and control their own destiny by having won theirhead-to-head matchup.


The Bulldogs have won three consecutive contests since their35-14 setback at Tennessee on October 6, including a 44-34non-conference victory over Troy here last week.


Freshman tailback Knowshown Moreno, who starred in a win overFlorida the previous week, paced the Bulldog attack with 196rushing yards and three touchdowns to become the first Georgiafreshman to run for 1,000 yards since Herschel Walker in 1980.

Auburn (7-3, 4-2 West) is tied with Alabama in second place intheir division, a game behind Louisiana State with two to play.

But Auburn lost to LSU and would need to win out and have theBayou Bengals to lose their final two conference games in orderwin the West.


Last week, Auburn pounded Football Championship SubdivisionTennessee Tech, 35-3, as Brandon Cox completed 9-of-11 passesfor 167 yards and a score.
