NCAAF: LSU (6-0) at KENTUCKY (5-1)

LSU tries to remain lone perfect SEC team at Kentucky

    No. 1 LSU (6-0) at No. 17 Kentucky (5-1) 3:30 pm EDT

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Ticker) -- Jacob Hester and Louisiana Stateshowed their mettle at home last week. Now they must continuetheir sharp play on the road.

Hester and the top-ranked Tigers try to remain the onlyundefeated team in the rugged Southeastern Conference when theyvisit No. 17 Kentucky on Saturday.

Last Saturday, LSU overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit toedge then-No. 9 Florida, 28-24, on a two-yard TD run by Hesterwith 1:09 to play.

Hester had 23 carries for 106 yards - both career highs - forLSU (6-0, 3-0 SEC West), including a huge fourth-down pickup onthe final drive.

The Tigers did not win until several defenders batted down a"Hail Mary" pass from Tim Tebow on the final play of the game.

One of the biggest surprises in the early season, Kentucky (5-1,1-1 East) absorbed its first defeat of the campaign with a38-23 loss at South Carolina last Thursday.

The Wildcats committed four turnovers, with quarterback Andre'Woodson throwing an interception and losing a fumble that wasreturned for a touchdown.

LSU waxed Kentucky in Baton Rouge last year, 49-0. The Tigershave won the last four meetings since a 31-5 road loss in 1999.
