<h3>Tebow aims to improve Heisman Trophy chances</h3>

GAINESVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- Florida quarterback TimTebow has one more chance to impress the Heisman Trophy voters.

Tebow leads the 12th-ranked Gators into their regular-seasonfinale on Saturday against Florida State.


With little at stake in what used to be one of the country'smost important rivalries, most of the attention will be focusedon Tebow, who is trying to become the first sophomore to wincollege football's most prestigious award.


In the last two weeks, Tebow has been a one-man wrecking crew,accounting for 11 touchdowns.


In last week's 59-20 victory over Florida Atlantic, Tebow becamethe first quarterback in the history of the FootballChampionship Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) to rush for 20touchdowns and pass for 20 touchdowns in the same season.

His 20 rushing TDs also established a Southeastern Conferencesingle-season record.


Florida (8-3) is looking to end the regular season with afour-game winning streak and improve its bowl position.

Florida State (7-4), which has endured inconsistent quarterbackplay throughout the year, clinched its 31st consecutive winningseason with last week's 24-16 win over Maryland. It also wasBobby Bowden's 300th victory as Seminoles coach.


The Seminoles will be trying to snap a three-game losing streakin a series Florida leads 30-19-1. It is Florida State'slongest skid against the Gators since dropping six in a rowfrom 1981-1986.
