NFL: GREEN BAY (6-1) at KANSAS CITY (4-3)
Favre seeks first win against Chiefs
Green Bay (6-1) at Kansas City (4-3) Sunday 1:00 pm EDT KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- In his storied 17-yearcareer, Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has wonan NFL-record 153 games. None have come against theKansas City Chiefs. On Sunday, the NFC North-leading Packers conclude a two-gameroad swing against the Chiefs, who are the only team Favrenever has beaten. Favre is 0-3 against Kansas City, including a 40-34 overtimeloss in the last meeting between the teams at Lambeau Field in2003. That was a painful defeat for Favre, as the Chiefs rallied froma 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the game onMorten Andersen's 31-yard field goal with one second left inregulation. Four years later, Favre is the chief architect of what isbecoming a storybook season for the Packers, who at 6-1 aretied with the Dallas Cowboys for the best record in the NFC. Last week, Favre added another chapter to his legend, throwingan 82-yard touchdown pass to Greg Jennings on the first play ofovertime to give Green Bay a 19-13 victory over the DenverBroncos. Denver forced overtime on Jason Elam's 21-yard field goal astime expired. But the Packers were fortunate to get to the extraperiod, as the Broncos failed to convert a 2nd-and-1 at GreenBay's 4-yard line in the final minute. "I keep saying winning games ugly, winning games like that inovertime build character," Favre said. "I don't see how theydon't. "I have no idea how we'll do the rest of the year, butit's sure been a hell of a ride up till now." The win might have been ugly, but it gave Favre only the third6-1 start of his career. He also started 6-1 in 1996, when Green Bay won its last SuperBowl title, then matched it in 2002. That season, the Packerslost in the divisional round of the playoffs to the AtlantaFalcons and their young quarterback, Michael Vick. Coming off their bye week, the Chiefs have won four of theirlast five following an 0-2 start to take over first place in theAFC West. Kansas City is looking to duplicate last year's feat, when itmade the playoffs after losing its first two games. Of the 10 teams who started this season with a pair of losses, theChiefs and the New York Giants (6-2) are the only ones withwinning records. Overall, Kansas City has won five straight against Green Bay andleads the all-time series, 6-2-1. The most famous meeting between the teams came in Super I, withthe Packers posting a 35-10 victory.

Obviously I want the Chiefs to win, but the Pack are sort of my "NFC" team, and I don't want to see them fall a game behind Dallas in the NFC. I am just thankful this game is being played in the friendly confines of Arrowhead. With San Diego getting on track, wins are becoming more important than ever.
On another note, Jared Allen and Aaron Kampman should be fun to watch harrassing QBs today.
