GameFly recently purchased Playcast and is using their technology to power GameFly Streaming, which is available on the Fire TV app store starting today. GameFly Streaming offers games in six separate packs which cater to different genres or tastes, according to a release on GameFly's website. For example, the Action Pack comes with F.E.A.R. 3, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Red Faction: Armageddon, Red Faction: Guerilla, Mafia II, Sleeping Dogs andHitman (though the site doesn't specify which Hitman title in the series is available). The game packs run $6.99 a month each. There's also a more varied Gamer Pack, offering 16 games for $9.99. GameFly says more games are coming soon. GameFly Streaming service requires Amazon Fire TV, and your choice of several controllers, including an Xbox 360 controller, Logitech models F-310 or F-710, or the Fire TV controller. GameFly recommends a wire internet connection speed of at least 10 Mbps, though 5 GHz Wi-Fi is supported. At this point, it appears Sony's PlayStation Now service is GameFly Streaming's main competition. Sony purchased OnLive's technology in April, and will eventually close down the company. Sony also acquired Gaikai in 2012 which provided the platform for PS Now
