<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Timberwolves will fine Kevin Garnett for missing a civic luncheon Monday at Target Center.

Garnett was expected to attend the event Monday, and his absence was not excused, coach Dwane Casey said.

"Kevin knew he was supposed to be there," Casey said. "It's not a big issue. For me, it's a dead subject. He will be fined for it. I'm sure he will. That comes from up above, above me."

Garnett will be in the starting lineup tonight for the regular-season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers at Target Center.

Casey said Garnett had a "prior engagement" but declined to disclose what it was. The Wolves have had various public engagements recently leading to the regular-season opener. Team owner Glen Taylor was out of the office and did not return a phone message seeking comment.</div>

Could this be the beginning of the end for KG? Something like this happened with David Beckham for Machester United (English Soccer) when his son was ill so he missed training. Just months later, he was forced out of the club by the manager. Could this happen to KG?
