He averaged about 24 minutes per game during his NBA career with Phoenix and Orlando. In two seasons with the Magic -- before a knee injury last season knocked him out of all but two games -- Garrity averaged more than 30 minutes per game.

But Garrity has seen his playing time shrink so much that other clubs keep calling to see if he's available.</div>
    Full Story

As much as I like Garrity, I don't think we really need him as much as we have in the previous seasons. He plays a position that finds him struggling for minutes - Dwight, Hedo, and Grant have taken over.

His attitude is still very positive though, he mentions that we're winning so it really doesn't matter to him.

I remember Doc Rivers calling Pat his silent assasian off the bench. I do not think we need him now though. We could not get alot for him in a trade at this point possibly some picks from a team looking for a sharp shooter probably a team like the Celtics would be intrested in him. To give some vertern leadership, and Doc loves the guy so he would be in good favor there.

I am a little disturbed by all of these disgruntaled players the team has had. With Stevenson, Garriety, and Bradely. Of all those the most valuable still to us has to be Stevenson if another injury happened to Mobely he would have to be relied apon big time. I do not blame him or wanting out. All these players with the exception of Bradely where with the Magic last season, and got a lot of minutes now they have been reduced to bench warmers. Even in the NBA when you are getting paid millions of dollars it sucks sitting on the bench.

Good thing like you said about Pat is he is just happy they are winning. Hopefully the team keeps him for the playoffs when the game becomes half court his shooting will be needed to stretch out the defense. I would hold off on all trades despite what we may get for him. Like I siad before we could not get much for him now, and we do not need him much now, but playoffs its a whole different story.

^You must have read a different article there, I don't see where Garrity says he wants out or is as unhappy about the situation as were Bradley and Stevenson. Yes, he is a bit frustrated but at the same time he isn't mad about it. Some more quotes from the article should make that clear (sorry for that Ice, hope that's not against the rules):

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I'm healthy. I'm having fun again," said Garrity, who has had four surgical procedures on his right knee since early last season. "That's why it's a little frustrating to come out."</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> "As a basketball player, it's tough. I like to be out there, and I like to play. But at the same time, you can't be mad about it when a guy like Dwight is playing well and we're winning games."</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"You always want to have good stats," he said, "but at this point in my life, it doesn't matter so much. The major thing is winning."</div>

You must have read a different post of mine re-read the last paragraph I said the good thing is Pat is still happy with us. I was not stating that possibly Garriety would request a trade, but syaing the Magic might trade him due to the over flow at his spot. Only player I said I could not blame for requesting a trade was Stevenson.

^I admit I skipped the last paragraph because you compared Garrity to Bradley and Stevenson but both of them requested a trade and are not happy with their roles on our team but that's not the same with Garrity.

Nice work 1000th thread. but ne ways:

The magic dont play him enough which is good for now like Pure said he will be good for the playoffs and in zone defense with turk, cat, and pat out as 3 point threats there will be little zone defense if pat learns to be consisdent with his shot like mobley.
I think that when the magic make the playoffs they will be a different team with vets stepping up and showing how its done. Pat will be good for our playoff run.

On the note of bradley and stevenson i have to say try to get a vet that has some game left in him like the rockets have done. The two are worried about playing time well give them to a team that needs possible starters or fresh men off the bench as we got battie when kato get back nelson which is just being impressive turk who when is hot is hot pat who grabs boards and shows he is improving on an inside game and then kasun who is not my favorite but will grab def/off rebs and get some putbacks. But the trade i would like which might be impossible but just a thaught is go for barion davis as hornets have people who have shown up in his absense but would be nice to get iam not saying we will but would be nice.
