Hollywood has lost a movie legend, but fortunately, Garry Marshall's legacy will live on in his films. The iconic actor, producer, director and writer led a career spanning more than four decades. In that time, he managed to magnify the careers of then-upcoming stars like Julia Roberts and Anne Hathaway and fortify the romantic comedy genre tenfold. "He launched and nurtured more careers than he had shoes," Tom Hanks wrote ofthe director. The 81-year-old, who passed away from complications of pneumonia following a stroke, was as multi-talented as they come in the industry, having simultaneously written, directed and starred in cameo appearances in many of his films.
