http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/stor...marc&id=1838214 Any Laker fans out there that want to comment on whether you would want GP to stay another year or have be traded to another team so they can use their 5.4 million exception on someone else. What do you guys think?
It would be good if he left, Fisher is a better guard and if Shaq gets traded they will need some good players to fill up the void
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It would be good if he left, Fisher is a better guard </div> Not even at this stage in GP's career do I consider Fisher a better guard than him. Please explain why you think this??
oh GOD! the laker drama is never ending. what is ending however is my patience with all this bitching and moaning. glove is slowly becomming one of my LEAST fav point guards with his mouth. i used to love all his trash talk, now hes just being a baby. cant these chumps just shut up and play already?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bahir:</div><div class="quote_post"> It would be good if he left, Fisher is a better guard and if Shaq gets traded they will need some good players to fill up the void</div> A guy hits a clutch shot or two and now hes better than Gary Payton who's clutch performances would dwarf Fisher's. Maybe Fisher is better fit for the Lakers' system but Fisher>Payton is a rather half-minded point.
I want the Lakers to include GP in the Shaq trade (Since he is Shaq's left nut) and get Dwyane Wade. Everyone is saying how good GP can still be... Well, let's get Dwyane!

Wow, what a little whiner. Shaq leaves so now he wants out. Apparently his thought was get rid of Phil and keep the same team as last year. Since that's not happening now, he wants out. That's just pathetic I think. Oh well, I never really liked him in a Lakers uniform anyways. I would personally rather see Fisher back next year anyways. He may not be better than Payton, but at least he's not a little whiner about his role on the team. Last year, all you got from Payton mostly was a lot of whining, whereas Fisher accepted his role despite being put on the bench. So, who knows, maybe trading Payton will be a good thing for this team. I never liked him all that much so for me, it's not gonna hurt at all to see him leave.

He was recruited to the Lakers by Shaq because he wanted to play with Shaq. If I come to a team for someone and they leave, why would I wanna stay. On another note, Fisher is not a better pt guard then Payton. Even at this stage in his career. Remember than Payton did very well during the regular season, starting all 82 games and averaging 15 ppg and 5.5 apg. People are ripping on Payton because he had a hideous playoffs. So did Kobe. Fisher is a spark off they bench with clutch capabilities. However I hope he goes to Houston and get a starting role and prove he can be a more consistant pt guard.

Plus, all last season, he complained about playing time, especially in the playoffs. He was mad cause he wasn't getting playing time in the 4th and he took resentment to that and complained. He never stopped to realize he was playing like crap and that DFish was playing good. That's why he's a whiner. And back to the him leaving thing. Just because Shaq is leaving, doesn't mean you have to. I don't care if he's the reason why you came. In all actuality, the reason he came was to win a title, not Shaq. And, to me, him leaving makes me think that he's afraid that the Lakers are going to bad. It makes me think he has a negative attitude about them now. That, just because the most dominant player in the game is leaving, he thinks they're going to suck. By all means, this is not true. They're likely getting some very good and YOUNG players from the Heat in return. I personally think the Lakers will be good next year. But, granted that Payton wants out because Shaq is leaving, I don't care anymore. If he leaves, good for him. To me, it's a sign that he's afraid of being on a losing team and to him, that would hurt him in some way. I don't like that attitude. I think, if he's going to be like this, if he thinks the Lakers will be losers next year, than he can get the hell out. The Lakers will find someone else, heck, might even bring back Fisher. But, the last thing I want is a point guard who is afraid of losing, because that attitude of possibly being a loser could go over to other players and give them a negative attitude about the teams direction and that's not needed currently.

well...if tmac can still opt out of his contract in houston and wants to play with shaq if the heat send eddie jones, and dwyane wade to the lakers in exchange for expiring contracts (payton / fox) they may be able to clear enough space to make a stab at tmac...=P

T-Mac can play alongside Yao for the next 10-12 years, if he goes to the Heat, he can play with Shaq for another 4-5 years at the most, then it will be Orlando all over again.

They lost the X factor that no team could match up against. Gotta hand it to the Heat. Mitch Kupchak is one of the worst GM's in the league, if not the worst. He was given a team to win, then makes some stupid trade getting rid of the best player in the L. The one man that not even two can match up to. Granted Shaq demanded the trade. BUT, thats when u beg him not to go and treat him like a God and stop pampering Kobe.
