Gary Payton might come to the Clips? I read in the Houston forum that he was interested and if he goes on the Clippers, they will have solid PGs and Payton can teach Livingston a lot of stuff. In addition to that is he will bring veteran experience to the team which is what the Clips really need. Kittles and maybe Payton=Clippers 8th seed at least IMO.
Hmmm I don't really see why Payton would even want to come to the Clippers. They have no chance of winning a championship any time soon. He would be a great pick up, but I still don't thnik they'll make the play offs even if they do get him. He would be a great player to teach young Shaun Livingston. Still I highly doubt this will ever happen and have never heard any thing of the sort.

Livingston is untouchable as soon as they sign him because he has a small rookie contract and sells tickets, Jaric is a ok player, but no where near gary payton level for a trade to go down they would probably have to toss up a future first and wilcox I dont think they will do that.
I agree that he would be probably the best avalible player to teach Livingston the in's and out's of the pro game...Do I think Payton will come to the LA Clips? No, he wants to win now, my best bet will be he goes to Houston...
Payton's daughter is starting high school soon and he doesn't want to move his family around anymore, because they like it in LA. I say why not, it will give the clippers another option and with his uptempo style, he can still play ball (he could never adjust to phil jackson's triangle) Payton will also bring some veteren leadership. It really all depends on the contract.
It seems as if Payton will be staying in Boston for now. I read that he's had talks with Doc Rivers, and Rivers feels that Payton will show up for camp and play out the season.
Payton did say he wouldnt mind playing for thew Clipps,mainly because he doesnt want to move his family around anymore. But it would be really cool to see him in a Clippers uni,not only could he bet a great veteran leader for them,but imagine what kind of effect he would have on Shaun Livingston.
One thing to keep in mind is to not jump the gun on Payton's availability. As of now, he's property of the Boston Celtics. The only way he becomes a Clipper (or anything else for that matter) is by way of trade.
