Hey all, cool advice I've been seeing on the boards, just wanted to ask you gurus your opinion on this trade. I've been offered Gasol, Magloire, and Dalembert for Iverson, Bosh, McInnis. I'm in a 12 team league, standard Yahoo 9-catogories, head to head. Here's my roster: PG-Billups, SG-E.Jones, G-Hughes, SF-Garnett, PF-Brand, F-J.Smith, C-Bosh, Ut-Iverson, Ut-McInnis, Ut- Boykins, Bench: Wilcox & Foyle, M.James is on the IL. Would hate to lose Iverson and Bosh (likely breakout year), but gotta admit the big men i'm being offered are tempting... Plus if a trade is made, what moves/trades should I look at next...I'm thinking Gasol for a PG/SG or maybe trade Brand for a big time PG/SG...ie Pierce/LBJ... What do you guys/gals think about it? Any feedback much appreciated, thanks!
I wouldn't do this trade mostly because it doesn't help your bottom line. You'll increase blocks and rebounds but lose a ton of points. I'm not a big AI fan, but he's better than Hughes, and you look like you have a pretty good front line already. (Garnett and Brand are top 10 in blocks already. You've got Bosh and Wilcox & Foyle on the bench to add a few more blocks in a pinch. Do you need more with Gasol, Magloire and Dalembert?) Thus, this trade would be even (or slightly in his favor depending on if Bosh continues to do well, or in your favor if Dalembert gets off the bench) except it doesn't give you anything you need. You already have strong points in what he's giving you. Why make an unnecessary trade?
I have both Dalembert and Bosh on my team, and I will tell you right now, dont do this trade. Bosh is capable of putting up 20 and 10 on any given night. Dalembert shoots horribly and is too hot and cold for my liking. You will lost a lot of points and assists by giving up AI. DO NOT do this trade.
Hey thanks for the feedback guys, but what if I do the deal and then move a guy, say Gasol for somebody like Sam Cassell...or maybe even Nash? Which examining the league, I could most likely pull. Considering my current roster above, what do you guys think? P.S. Yeah it might seem overkill on the frontcourt, however, a lot of these guys know their bball pretty well and i'm seeing that in rb and blks, there are probably 4-5 teams that would beat me out on those two cat's as they are about two-deep w/ boarders-blockers (ex: one team has shaq, wallace, and big z....etc...) Much thanks again!
That's a ripoff. Iverson is one of the best fantasy player. He'll fill up your points, assists, and steals categories rapidly.

Bosh has been putting up good numbers this year in the points, rebounds and blocks categories so I would leave your team the way it is.

You're right, he will fill up those three categories quickly, but aside from that, he doesn't do much. He's not a great rebounder by any means. He won't help your team out in blocks. If you're in a league where FG% counts, he's a liability there. He's not a great 3 point shooter anymore. Finally, in the wonderful land of stats, he will kill your team in the turnover category. Currently, he's averaging 4.6 per game right now, for his career, he's averaging 3.65, so history isn't on his side with getting that stat to a smaller number. All those are negatives against his fantasy game. Another big knock I have on him is his consistency. He can explode one night, shoot the lights out, everything, than the next game he might have a 5/20 shooting night. It kills you sometimes when you're hoping to get a good 25 pts or so a night from him. Finally, the last thing I have against him, can he stay healthy? I realize he's tough as nails, but, the injury bug always bites him. He got hammered with injuries last year, playing in a career low 48 games. He plays injured too often, and that will affect his stats a lot of the time. So, can he stay healthy? That's yet to be seen I suppose. But, aside from all these negatives, he's still a nice player to have around. He can explode on any given night, and that's always nice to have someone capable of that. But, for me, he has too many negatives (in my opinion) to ever go out and draft him, unless he fell to somewhere around the 3rd round.
Damembert is a 2nd stringer this year. Bosh is a monster. that alone, would make me reject the trade ARe you playin ROTO or Head to Head. I dominated last year in my roto league with your team. I had almost exactly that lineup. Watch the double posts, use the edit feature instead - SS

Hey Trenchteam, what's up? I'm playing Head to Head, but it looks like my team will be pretty balanced and competitive week for week, just curious though, what players were different from your team last year? Plus how's this year team looking, any luck so far? Plus to all the guys/gals that replied to the post, thanks a bunch, very helpful...and yeah i didn't pull the trade, pretty happy w/ the team as is actually.
What do you guys think about Pau's numbers? Will they remain about 19 7 or do you think he will average a double double?
