Wow, I wasn't aware the argument from the Left was that bare as to engender that response. Ron Paul has it right. The government has no place in marriage nor can it discriminate. The joke is that Democrats claim to believe in equal rights, when all they're about these days is identity politics and then paying lip service. Pathetic.
Yes because they are the ones making the argument that a marriage is between a man and a woman. They are also the ones going around the country seeking to actually put that into legal language as well. It's all Dems. Again projection from the right, as usual.
gay people vote democrat homophobes vote republican both parties are just pandering to their constituents
Like this Republican? I love his separate but equal argument.
He is basically Republican light IMO, he believes in spending, war, and is in the pocket of big business and the top 5%.
Why I'm simply pointing out that any gay person that votes for a Democrat based on the hope they'll do something substantive on gay rights is fooling themselves. Clear enough, dear?
Perhaps Democrats "doing nothing substantial" is preferable to Republicans actively working against them.
Some Republicans are anti-gay rights. Not all of them are. I know almost no one of my limited government ilk that don't believe gay people should have every single right that straight people do. My point is at least those Republicans are upfront about their position. The Democrats just pay lip service to the gay community. And gay people who actively support those candidates--like Obama--are just being used.
And not all homosexual individuals vote Democrat. Most of the gay community seems to feel Republicans are worse for their cause than Democrats, and my opinion is that they're right. You can argue that Democrats really aren't great champions for the gay community and I'd agree...but Republicans (as a party, not every single individual) are worse. IMO.
